I saw a tube bumper @ da bolsa chica meet (I think) that had plates connecting the triangled tubes, it was kinda like a mesh but had very small holes. Couldn't see through it unless you were right up on it. Like a tube plate hybrid. Plate bumpers just look to bulky and heavy for the most part. They do look better on 2nd gens though. Just my 2 cents.

Well this is what I thought of the stock Tacoma bumper on my truck, snip, snip, here snip.snip. there . All it took was a pair of left angle/right angle tin snips. it doesn't look good, it doesn't look bad, it looks different & for now that works for me !!:D

That's a sweet looking 4Runner, minus the RV ladder on the back. WTF? Maybe the owner is short?

Depending on the style I don't think so.

How else would you get all that stuff off the roof rack? That wheel & those gas cans full of fuel would be pretty heavy to remove.

I understand the function, but a little ugly:p IMO.

And being 6'2 like I am I think standing on the bumper (side or rear) would get me up high enough to reach those gas cans.

But it does make me miss my lifted 89 4Runner.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
I don't like they way they look either, but when you figure in the functionality, it has a certain nerdy girl with glasses sex appeal, that you say you sholdn't but you do any way.

    Its so naughty!
