I’ve already seen two ECUs from 06 trucks (both 4.0 auto 4x4) with different part numbers (last 3 digits) and both # are also different from mine. Seems strange...

yeah who knows. It was easy enough for me to find the same partnumber ecu... but they used my part number for both 2013 and 2014 4.0L Auto trucks which there are an abundance of.

I would also note, that if you get a different part number ECU, it's going to contain a different Calibration ID. If you're using HPTuners, that could very well cost you in the long run, as the credits are licensed to the Calibration ID and VIN.

Yup. Hence why I grabbed the same-part-number ecu as my original. Currently running on the backup ecu, which i used techstream to write the vin of my truck to which resulted in zero licensing issues.

The number starting 896 is the part number correct? So those should match ? What is the relevance of the number below? The one starting with TN?

Yes 869991-04B80 is going to be the part number.

I forget what year they changed the ECU plug style (i think 2012+'s... but it might of been 09+)

Anyone with a pre-2012 truck (Supercharged or N/A) using HPTuners willing/able to get me a simple datalog? I'm attempting to test a hypothesis, and need a sample size greater than what I have (n=2).. All I need is a simple WOT pull. Stock or modified tune does not matter.

I'll explain everything to those willing to help out. Anyone with a 2012 or newer truck would not be affected by anything in this test. :)

The Box ID could have 1 of 3 possible Calibrations on it, so not 100 percent.
Original CAL, updated CAL, or TRD CAL.

If you'd load a tune in the dog, the walk would be done quicker. :D

Thank you! If you (and anyone else) would use this channels config file for this test I'd be thankful!

Install it to this directory: \Documents\HP Tuners\VCM Scanner\Channel Configs

Also sending you a PM here momentarily.

    Good point!

With the HPT read process, you'll only see the updated calibration, or the TRD calibration (in the rare event it's flashed).

If i had a pre 2012 truck id help out! (I have a hunch this info grab is within regards to how 2011- trucks deal with timing, as been discussed before its slightly different than 2012+) ... at least thats what my crystal ball tells me. (though that stupid thing has been wrong on every lotto ticket i have asked it about)
