I’ll be at the Wild home opener in October and I think a game in Calgary in November through work.

Nice, TB is a blast to see games you are lucky. I'll be there with 10-12 family members including my mother who is 61 and yet to see a live game in her life. Cant wait. I'll remember to post here when Im there

I’ll more than likely be at the Calgary game if you want to grab a beer. Usually the group I’ll be with will have a drink at the arena bar before the game and head somewhere after the game as well.

 

It looks like Marner is set on either a three year bridge deal with a huge last year, so his arbitration award just before he’s a RFA would be 11 million plus, or a deal worth more than Matthews over 8 years. My humble opinion but now is the time for Dubas to shop him for a top 6 winger and a top 4 defenceman if someone is really willing to pay that.

I’m guessing a few teams will be shopping RFAs shortly, these asks from players who have proved nothing is crazy.

I like 11 mil x 8 enough to give him it honestly. I think I explained it before in my eyes. It's been worked out that Pat Kane's second deal is always the best comparable using all available. That would sit him around 9.1 mil x 5 . Usually add in 6% increase or so to eat up UFA years and then add 5% on the top because thays exactly what Matthews and Nylander got over their value from comparables.
Works out to around 11.27 mil over 8.
I would have traded him long ago but oh well we are stuck now

Leafs, Marner agree on six-year, $65.358M contract extension

 

Now we get to see what Point, Tkachuk, and the others get. Marner at just under 10.9 AAV means some serious coin is coming for his comparables.

 

Terrible deal for the leafs. Makes me sick.
But the more I look they really structured it to be able to unload it in 4 years for kings ransom.
