Just an update for everyone. At the moment, between Facebook groups, this forum and the fjcruiserforum it's looking like we've got about 23 people interested in the group buy so the price will be $375 and everyone will get an oil cap! Going to let the group buy run just a few days more to see if we can get some more people on board.

Tomorrow I'm going to touch base with Clutch Masters and see what they think they can do for pricing on a combo kit with a clutch included and report back with what the price would be on that setup.

Another update on all this. I chatted with the guys at Clutch Masters today and because of all the interest they are going to give $100 off a clutch kit on top of the $100 off of the hydro release bearing.

I should have a code for everyone shortly once we get this group buy all wrapped up and all the details sorted out with CM. I will PM everyone the code once everything is finalized here in the next day or so it sounds like!

As a side note, I'm running the FX100 clutch and have been incredibly happy with how it's performed alongside the hydro release bearing! I think the FX100 should work well even for you guys that are supercharged since the OE clutch can usually take the extra power the supercharger puts out, the FX100 definitely will be able to handle it no problem.

    My shit is all stock.
Am I the only one thinking of a dual disk setup?

Butter smooth engagement, nice light pedal, above and beyond holding power, reduced rotational mass, etc...

I have URD's Twin disk when they still had it for sale. the pedal is all sorts of light with it. only issue i have is its easier to stall when offroading even with a crawl box over stock..

I was looking at the FX-300, didn’t see the twin disk being available for our taco.

Unless someone ends up making over 6-700whp out of the 1GR, then the single disk options are going to work just fine. But I know I was chatting with Clutch Masters about the possibility of a twin disk setup and they have the model file to machine the flywheel already done and ready to go if anyone is wanting a twin disk. They have it listed on their site now as well because I told them there was some interest for a twin disk. Here's a picture the engineer sent me of their twin disk flywheel and also the cover assembly. This would use their 10" twin disk, or the FX1000.

Since this kit was designed specifically for the RA60/61 transmission and the hydraulic fluid capacity of that system, the housing and piston that make up the slave cylinder have the perfect amount of travel for a clutch with the OEM stack height (the overall height of the clutch when bolted to the flywheel). When we installed the release bearing in my rig we were very careful to make sure that the bearing wasn't overthrowing the clutch. We did have to adjust the clutch pedal and how it actuates the master cylinder to get the release point to my liking but that was an easy process.

This isn't always the case with all of the hydro release bearings as some of the same housings and pistons are used in a lot similar applications but the stack height of the clutch differs so to prevent the bearing from overthrowing the clutch, sometimes a pedal stop is necessary. But that isn't the case for our application in the Tacoma/FJ.

Sounds good I've got you added to the list.

I should have the coupon code for everyone by the end of the day and I'll PM that code to everyone who's said they are interested!

Does the steel braided lines just screw into the hardlines? I know one is for the actual fluid and the other is a bleed hose

The one braided line screws into the hardline that is on the frame rail, so you are correct. As you mentioned the second line is just for bleeding.

Yes, I do believe they should be able to make the FX250 for the Tacoma. I'll let them know that they don't have it listed on their site and that someone is interested and I'm sure they can quickly add it to the site if it is possible to make. I'll let ya know for sure!

Also, just an update, I do have the code for everyone but I've had a handful more people in the last couple days shoot me a PM looking to join the group buy. I need to go through and make sure that I've accounted for everyone who's PM'd me or said they are in on this thread. Since we have about 30 people now it looks like, it's going to take me just a little bit to get the code to everyone. Soo soon as I'm off work today I'll head home and start shooting that code over to everyone!

Just got this installed the other day! So far it’s a night and day difference. The truck is so quite now, I’m driving around with the windows down and no music and lovin’ every minute of it!
