Noob question, is wheeling that hard on the LCA and cam bolts? Like do I need to keep my eye out for a deal on lowers? Getting out for the first time at AOAA. I know there are a ton of things that will get stressed and worked. I anticipate ball joints, u joints, cvs, etc... Are there other things that get trashed that i should be aware of? I guess the unforeseen expenses of wheeling from those that have been in the game.

The LCA thing is a corrosion issue. If they sit too long they seize fast to the bushings.

For other things.. it depends, I'd say the most likely thing to fuck up until you're on 35s is a tie rod.

I assumed that the cam bolts were a corrosion issue. I routinely spray mine, but switching my springs each of the last two years has made me get an alignment. Maybe fluid film and pb blaster have saved me that. I expect minor issues with wear and tear. That is going to happen regardless. I just don't want to get into $2500 fixes on the regular. The wife still isn't on board with wheeling, because she thinks I'm going to break everything.

I didn't bother spraying my stuff, figured it's still too young, too early... I'm thinking all bunch of water/mud crossings were not helping here

Back on 9/11/01 I was working at HD. I heard though the folks at the store that there had been an accident and went back to the break room to see the news on TV. Like many I watched the second plane hit. I remember the days afterward when all air travel was suspended how quiet it was. I live directly below the flightpath for the airliners and we hear them all the time.

Tie rods, alignment cams (the little jawnskis that keep the alignment cam thing there), could fuck up your CV, driveshaft. There's a lot that can go wrong without being on 35s.

I had my first gen as class 2, had always been that way since the first time it was registered.

The $25 a year extra is well under the price of a ticket.

Sure, possibilities.. but I don't see them happening on the easier trails unless the driver does something stupid.

I already ardered OEM from McGeorge Toyota. That and a few other parts.

Figured it'd be a better choice for such a young truck.

Maybe shes yelling because her daughter is in California or something and she wants to make sure she hears her...NOT. She needs to be told to speak softly or take it outside.

The replacement cam bolts are horrible. Other than that I have not had an issue with any other parts that I’ve gotten from them
    I hate that shit.

I found something on YT a while back. This guy looks/listens for the loudest person in a particular local, bus stop, airport, etc. He sits across or one seat away from the loud phone talker and joins in the conversation as if he is on the other end of the call. He just replies with random things and it is hilarious.

For 9/11, I was working on a large sculpture for a big client. We were home-schooling all 3 at the time. Wife had Fox News on and called me into the house to witness the horrors. I will never forget hearing the fire dept. recordings asking, shouting for help and describing what was going on.

Now, as a DoD contractor, I can directly contribute to the training of our armed forces, helping to bring them home safely.:oldglory:
