I saw the 4Runner pic, but is that the same kit? I’ve never been to KOH but something that can do the rubicon and then jump pismo dunes would be my dream

I don't know - from the vids I've watched of KOH it seems to be a combination of crawling sections and speed sections and yes I believe that T4R is where the first started prototyping this kit and working out the details.

Yea KOH has a little bit of both to the point where just finishing the race is bragging rights last year 109 started and only 29 finished in allotted time.

The more I look at SAS'd Tacomas, the more I'm willing to go broke. I'm curious to see the true comparison between the two build types, or a combination of.

What kind of rear suspension would you guys run with this set up on 37” or 40” tires.

Big Mike is running 40s and chose to run a 3 link setup I believe. I'm to lazy to go verify.

I think you could get by with a standard long(ish) travel rear spring setup. Just depends on how much lift you end up with in the front. I plan to use mine with 14" Fox 2.5 shocks, Archive hammer hangers, shock relocation and ubolt flip with Icon (or Deaver) progressive rear springs that will give extra downtravel.

I'd go SAS if I had a first gen for go fast but wanted to crawl - as for IFS Solo motorsports makes a beefy kit that eliminates the lower ball joint with a fabbed 4x4 spindle on first gens if you a looking for durability. I'm not sure what difference the high clearance will make if you're running 35's. We'll have to see if this thing makes it out of my driveway ever lol.

This is what I was thinking.. you don’t want to do SUA?

If you wanted that extra couple inches you could go SUA. Then you start running into longer leaf springs, shackles, moving mounting points, etc. It just isn't worth it to me for now. If I need more, I'd just go 3-4 link.

Solo has a great setup. I was down to choosing between Solo and LSK before the RCLT wsa announced. I really liked how LSK had theirs set up with custom knuckle. I believe it was a bit wide, though 4.5". For me, having a custom heavy duty knuckle is important. I didn't want to just gusset my stock one. Good choice RCLT! Now get my 2nd Gen kit built please!
