I thought about that but decided I didn’t want to put any effort into it.

How are people attaching the aftermarket knob to the shift boot? My MT has a weird clip attachment on the actual knob.

Search for "grommet". Later I can post the solution and knob pictures. There are multiple threads on this plus somehow I cannot upload photos from my phone anymore

I put the "proper" MT shift shaft grommet on. Looks right and proper now. Hillman PN 881257 from Lowe's is the ticket. Snug on the shaft and the wider groove accommodates the locking keys on the plastic trim ring. Feels and looks right. I tried it with correct ID/OD diameter grommet, yet less tall, i.e. thinner groove and that really did not work. Happy with my Lithuania shift knob now!

Most just get a 5/8" inner diameter, 1-1/8" outer diameter grommet from Home Depot or other hardware store and just snug that over the top. It fits decently well and covers it up. I think you have to trim one side/edge so it goes into the ring. Check out the threads @Pablo8 linked for pics of them.

If you are more ambitious and want to spend a bit, @7r41lbr34k3r makes a 3D printed part that does a similar thing but actually is keyed so it can lock into place on the shift boot. A bit cleaner of a solution.

Many old muscle cars had that shifter handle, I had one . It used to frost up in the winter time .

Yep, I can also machine the connection directly into a knob.

Twisted ShifterZ makes the knob. The boot retainer came from Amazon.

They can take mine too! Been wanting to do that MOD someway forever. There sort of is one if you simply take the boot off but then you are left with an ugly ass console opening. If it wasn't for that I'd just go bootless.
