I heard they reworked the gen3 motor out of a lesser model to work higher in the power band. I would check to make sure the winch diff doesn't leak or the planetary gears don't clunk. I also hear that the users on the new gen3's are absolute toddlers on problem solving anything and are generally heckled on SmittybiltWinchWorld.com

Edit: I heard that the Gen3 9.5 PRO is getting released next year with a military colored fairlead

All their winches are waterproof if you understand what the IP ratings mean. They just make their more expensive ones a little more water proof, and dub then as waterproof.
that one took me a second haha

None of this “truck becomes useless after 35s” mess. Gonna have this thing back together and cab mounts relocated by flagpole next weekend.

The supercharger was because i had to floor it in 4th to maintain 60 on 35s.

I have all of those things now, so does that mean my truck will be reliable now? Please say yes.

Yes. But I also worry the answer is no because your goal is 4wd launches.

You guys are forgetting the winch is essentially a pulley. If you think of it like two pulleys (aka winch and snatch block) then it makes a lot more sense. Two pulleys give you a mechanical advantage of 2. Which means you need to pull the rope 2X to move the weight 1X.

You can also think about it like a seesaw. Put a 100# weight on one side and you need 100# on the other side to lift it. But if you move the pivot point closer to the first 100# then you need less weight to lift the 100#. Mechanical advantage. Or a simplier example is using a breaker bar vs. a 6" wrench. Mechanical advantage. You're trading force for distance. Ever heard the saying "give me a lever long enough and I can move the world"?

Edit: Sorry forgot to give you the super complicated formula of "Force X Distance = Work"

Who's asking the stupid questions today Randall?

You seriously have that one? It has the overload digital readout on the crazy looking remote switch/handle?

I just got the email for placing a pre-order the other day. Is that what they sent you when yours shit the bed?

It's definitely the one I'm getting since Joe only rates that bumper for 10k.
