Hey from San Luis Obispo

Hey guys im Ben. Im moving to San Luis Obispo in 1 week to be a student at Cal Poly. I drive a 2002 White Tacoma DoubleCab Prerunner TRD V6. I love the truck. My father purchased it brand new in 2001 as a 2002 model. She's got 126k miles on her and everything is perfect. I recently tinted the front windows (pics to come later) and put in new KYB Monomax shocks. Ill be at Pismo all the time and would love to meet up with people to do some wheeling! If my 2wd can handle it!

Shoot! i would be but i am too far north lol...

You have 2wd with the locker you will be surprised with what your truck can do i wheel mine with a lot of 4x4 and have only gotten stuck once... No one thinks i have 2wd lol.

Thanks again guys, Ill be sure to go to that meet if I can!! And yea if your ever free and want beer and stuff I could sure use help and tools to do the DP mod!

 

I didn't do deckplate mod for a few reasons, 1st is cuz hot air from engine, 2nd is gotta put it in if any puddle splashing or real dusty, 3rd Toyota makes great reliable engines don't mess with what works. I did do the afe drop in and the airraid intake tube to lose the elbow. Both cheap mods compared to cai. But some swear by the dp mod, to each his own.

 

Hm interesting. Im just looking for a little bit more power out of the motor

 

Welcome to the area! I don't go out to the beach much anymore. Guess I'm getting old? Used to go every weekend with my old 86 4x4 Toyota and my buddies Grand Cherokee. Your truck will do fine with the locker and the tires aired down to 10-15 psi. Used to see tons of prerunner tacomas out there.

 

Welcome to TW man. Thats a nice area down there, and a nice campus. I visited the area this summer and really liked it down there.
