235 is going to be a smaller tire. May have been the 255, which is a skinny 33

Has anyone considered weld on rock sliders? The Mobtown weld on sliders are $449 vs $1049 usd for the bolt on sliders. Another bolt on slider option is Victory 4x4 sliders at $599 usd. Victory is located in Michigan so it would be easy to pick them up.

I thought about it but I like being able to take it off and repaint whenever I need to. It's going to get banged up wheeling so having that option is worth it to me.

I have weld on. Wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a pain to paint and if you wanted to claim warranty work (not that holes drilled in the frame won’t compromise that) but the weld ons can’t be removed to go incognito.

Only reason I went that option because there wasn’t any good options at the time.

3rd gen has a rubbery sealer between the frame channel layers from the transmission crossmember rearward. Not sure how that will behave with the welding heat.

Thanks guys! Lots of good reasons not to go with weld on sliders! I think though I'll contact Mobtown just out of curiosity and see how much weld is required to mount them or perhaps if they could be adapted to be a bolt on.

Before i built my sliders i think mobtown had just the bolt on plates.
You would have to source your own tubing but the plates that bolt to the frame were probably the biggest pain in the ass to make

I've set up lots of dual sport motorcycle rides through St. Williams. And all over Ontario. There isn't anything truck friendly at St. Williams at all. A few years ago the MNR made a number of the trails off-limits to bikes and atv's. And everything has a weigh limit restriction. There are a few seasonal roads in the area but thats about it.
