Mine awakes on bump. While not perfect you see the guy leave the scene so he’s fucked

Anyone have an owl dash cam? I'm waiting for the arrival if mine in the mail.

Every time I look at dash cams, I see reviews where people say the sun absolutely kills them. I park in the garage all night. Truck is stored out of the sun as much as possible, but it sits in the parking lot at work for 10 hours a day. I do think they're really valuable, but I don't want to drop $250 for it to die in 6 months. Maybe this isn't as common as what I read?

I park my Thinkware outside in the triple digits here in Las Vegas and only have had one heat related shutdown. It was 115 degrees that day.

I've got the Viofo A129 Duo on the way.

I used Car Cam Central on YouTube to research dash cameras and memory cards. Highly recommend the guy's videos.

I have the Thinkware f700 with Parkmode on bump in my Charger and for work I had to leave the car sometimes up to three weeks unmoved in my garage or the airport parkinglot. Never failed to start and the battery is already 6 years old.

Doesn't always record, can't keep the time stamp. but mostly it will go long periods without actually saving the video. like weeks.

Thx. I assume you tested out formatting the sd card, and trying a new card as I think mine came with the kind not meant for continuous read/write.

For those who lives in a warm climate, I'd suggest getting a dash cam with a capacitor instead of a battery. They can handle extreme heat.

I have one, I like the fact that i can tap into it anytime i want with the LTE service. No back camera tho only bummer with rear ends but the functionality is great. You start off with 60 credits and every credit in 1 minute if you wanna tap into it from LTE service. But you get notifications with any movement or anything going on with view of the camera, so i never really tap into it unless there was a damage or break in alert. real simple to set up aswell

Glad your wife is okay! Do you know if you would still be able to request diminish value if a police report was not filed? I was recently in a rear end collision too where a guy backed into me while I was going straight. We only did an info exchange and I filed a claim with his insurance. But the damage looks like it's already going to be more than 1k because he took out my BSM, tail lights and smashed in the bed =( .
