Anyone have any good advice for dealing w/ a shit-ton of scratches along both sides of my truck?
None seem too deep, figured they could be buffed out or something. Any idea of what that sort of thing would cost?

Lastly, any suggestions on future protection?

This is part of the game if you want to go off roading... if they're not deep, scratch-x or a similar product will usually take of them for the most part.

vinyl wraps can help... but if you don't want scratches on your truck, don't drive it off road...

Most will buff out. Wash and wax. It’s part of the sport.

Getting it buffed will help eliminate most of the scratches but, it will still be there, and when you get it dirty again you will see them pop up again. I keep hearing getting ceramic coating helps with some protection too?? Cause it will give a layer to protect the paint

I know it wont work but clean it and wax it and do a lot of wax rubbing and then see what you have before you start tearing the clear coat off with a buffer .

That will buff right out out, use cutting compound with a D.A. it will come out after a few passes. Then wax.

Damn! I just saw the pictures. That’s gnarly. I can’t see those buffing out to be honest. I’m not a detailer but I’ve tried the scratch removers on my truck and it hardly does anything. Those look too much to hide with wax/scratch products.

A detailer can probably cut and buff that though.

Should come out with some compound and polish.

    Step 1: Give it a good wash/clean
Step 2: Use a cutting pad + meguiars ultimate compound
Step 3: Use a polishing pad + Meguiars ultimate polish
    Step 4: Wax

Results will be much better than using "scratch remover." There are better or more harsh cutting compounds but the products I listed are work well and generally well reviewed. If the meguiars ultimate doesn't work, try a more professional level compound, such as meguiars m105. A bit pricey, but works well.

I personally use a small 3" cordless polisher. Milwaukee 2438 with 2 x 6.0ah batteries, as they drain pretty quick.

I say live with it. Toyota paint is already thin as. You start buffing and you're making it thinner. Wear it w pride.

It will come out no problem. But you'll put them right back on next time you're wheeling. I went around in circles a dozen times buffing them scratching. Now I don't care, truck is getting older anyways.

Go with it, it’s always best if you own your first dents and scratches anyways. Now you won’t be so hesitant to modify it either! ;)

Dang! is there any part of your truck not scratched? I'd be looking for a good detail shop to clean that up.
You're definitely not cruising the mall parking lots!
