The fuel consumption measurement is off once you change the tire size, so as the actual speed shows on the display. Hence if you read 15mpg, I think the actual is 16+ MPG

I could see this if I drove my truck the way I’d like. Instead I drive like a turtle and I get tank average about 17 mpg. City 15 highway 19 hwy ( California freeway is heavy frequently)
Tank till empty went from 353 to 295 Every time which is closer to 17-18mpg.
In short I lost about 3 mpg. Yes I have done the speedo math and it’s maybe a 1mpg off. But a average person will lose 3mpg with 33’ Falken AT tires and a lift.

Ppl here always say to the new guys you bought a truck not a car what did you expect. Well TOYOTA get 5 stars in every category to me but the MPG is the lowest in mid size and full size (tundra) in their respective classes. No one wants the best looking, most reliable truck with the worst gas mileage but it is what it is

I went on a road trip Michigan Montana Wyoming Michigan and drove roughly 4500M. We kept all the fuel receipts and I took the miles from Google maps and not the gauge. Excel told me I averaged 15.4mpg on the whole trip with some slow offroading and mountains.

Of course we went camping and had the truck full with gear.

UPDATE: I just switched to a job site closer to home. No more highway. All city and 3” lift , 33” AT tires and it might as well be a tundra. 13.5 mpg. Highway if it’s wide open 25mpg no problem but stop and go at every stop sign and light with no highway ... those big ass meaty beefy man tires are a bitch to the mpg
