I was up that way a few weeks ago, hadn't been before. It was pretty up there and I wanted to do a little more exploring but the weather wasn't cooperating. I really wanted to hike through the Sluice Boxes State Park but decided not to due to weather. Took a couple side roads through the forest near Neihart and tried to get up to the fire lookout tower that's near the ski hill but about halfway up I was in the clouds so I figured I'd just turn around, no sense in going to the lookout if you can't enjoy the views!
This was at camp the weekend I was there....this same storm is the one that threw 2" hail in Townsend. Thankfully by the time it got out to where I was it was just rain coming down. Three hours of rain. Lots of it. And lightning.

Ok Kids, I'm off the 14, 15 and 16th of this month. Please send me suggestions for camping, wheeling, and fishing within 4 hours of Billings so I can enjoy the last bit of summer with my beloved...dog... and...truck... and any other suggestions for good fun!

but that would mean I may have a role in encouraging MORE people to move here. Can't let that happen. I'm fine with making sure the folks already here see the best of the best but I'm not too sure about sharing that info with outsiders!

no matter where you're going its likely I've already been. Let me know and I'll give you what pointers I can

No one in Virginia is interested in leaving hahaha. To be fair... I was in Colorado for 8 years before I came to Montana.... and I came to Montana because of a TW member that talked me into it...
