What do you want to see in a high clearance/swingout rear bumper?

We (Victory 4x4) are currently in the planning stages for our high clearance rear bumper. We are thinking of incorporating a modular design where you can add on one or two swingouts either on the initial install or at a later date. This should help with the sting of the cost of these things.

So what would you like to see in this design that isn't being offered currently? (Besides not having to wait 16+ weeks when you order one... we will be fixing that market issue for sure )

BSM will not be happening, sorry. Way too much liability.

    Current rear bumper for reference.

    Hahaha, dammit!

I miss it on my truck too, but Toyota isn't really being forthcoming with their testing and calibration procedures. So any slight variation in mounting can't be verified. Sucks.

Also mounting those sensors would ruin the "high clearance" portion of the concept.

A really good latch like the one 4XInnovations uses. The Destayco type of latch doesn't really inspire confidence long term. Plus many of these latches are oriiented to hold the swingout DOWN rather than CLOSED. I'd like the option of having the tire on either the driver or passenger side upon ordering the swingout. Antenna mounts would be good. Holes for backup sensors as an option. Single or dual swingouts as an option. Hinges mounted in double shear.

Modular would be great for cost savings. I'm personally not a fan of the spare tire hanging off the back for the daily commute to work.

That’s too bad the sensors are so sensitive to position and recalibration isn’t an option currently. I was thinking about cutting the lower mounting tab off and resealing.

Hi Victory4x4 team! I had the chance to speak with you guys at overland expo west! Like I said then, I think you guys are going to change the game making this bumper modular (so Someone can buy parts/accessories as needed) along with the production speed you guys offer!

A camera relocation kit (for a swingout) would be great!

I would be in if you offered BMS, but I understand the liability issues as well.

If you offer a high clearance rear with double swingout. Would you offer a modular standard bumper (as pictured in the first post) with double swing out?

Don’t want/need high clearance. But I do need space to load more stuff. Wheel/tire, hi-lift, trasharoo, etc.

Everyone has their own personal opinion, but!

For me, as high clearance as humanly possible, with the rear end part tucked in as close to the tailgate as possible (seen too many that stick out pretty far which defeats the purpose) a hidden tow hitch, and option to not get a swing out because I don’t want one lol. Maybe some recovery points on it too.

Personally for me the biggest thing is the high clearance aspect. The smaller the better because a trucks biggest problem is how far the rear hangs and most of those willing to chop their bed are going to run through some gnarly trails and need as much clearance as they can get..

The swing outs themselves (they will be universal) are being designed for the 4Runner bumper as we speak. Then onto the lower portion for the Taco

220lbs of ballast in the drivers seat and custom nose art in the back windows.
At least factory towing capacity! An aluminium option and BSM would be killer too but the towing is make or break for me.

double sheer mounts for swingouts double or single.. (option to order swingouts separate... modular $$$ savings)
    rear camera relocation kit available
    tire mount or not option
hideaway table full and halfs for single and double swingouts that wont interfere with tailgate
    jerry can mounts
    3/4" weld through shackle tabs.
bumper reinforcement brackets tie in further into the frame)

if you could make this a modular system for those of use that cant afford a LARGE purchase all at once, order base bumper with all the basic brackets, and tabs, and leave it to the consumer to buy upgrades later and install themselves. or sell a completed decked out bumper for the full price minus a small "large order discount"...

Most important, I see everyone fuck up. Taper out!

Don’t make the design a perfect rectangle (side profile look), it looks gross. Needs to taper out (towards the back).

    C3652D31-AF77-4F28-A0E5-B1F4E513E9DA.jpg

Modular, so some can add all that other stupid shit onto it if they want (tables, swing outs, cans, teddy bears, etc.)

    Focus on HIGH CLEARANCE.
