2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner

I just bought a trailer to utilize with my Toyota Prerunner and found that the brake lights do not function the trailer. Although the parking and blinkers are functional. Any Ideas how to troubleshoot? It has a Denso converter behind the rear seat.
