Looks good. Wish I went with 80s vs the 75s.

Are the 80s E rated vs 75 Cs? If so it’s bigger difference than just height.

Also I’ve heard with some slight bending the 75s fit in spare spot but 80s require cutting.

All of the 255/80 and 255/85 options are E rated.

My Grapplers still had 7/32” of tread left, but they were cupping and getting very loud. I don’t mind tire noise, but after 62K miles on them, it was time for a new set.

My bad, AT 4S dont come in an 80 or 85. The next choice would be the ST Maxx which is an E rated. Looks like every thing at 80 and above is E rated.

I see there is a 19 lb difference between those two tires. Maybe something to keep in mind to gain .8" in tire height.

When going to an E rated yes. I chose E rated for a stronger tire when airing down on trails.

My 255/85-16 Cooper ST MAXX weigh 19lbs more than my previous 265/70-16 Cooper Discoverer ATP. But I also gained ~1.7" in height (diameter went up ~2.5")

My 80s rubbed like mad on the fenders even after an alignment. BUT, the spare fit with no problem. DCSB.

I'm reluctant to goto E rated since I'm rarely on the trails but I have noticed the tread height is a lot higher on the ST vs ATS. I figure for occasional trail use the C is good enough but the extra height would be nice. I wish they made a AT3 XLT in pizza cutter size. :(

ST Maxx are 18/32 vs AT3 4s is 14/32. How have those been wearing for you? Any idea if the ST longevity? I'm guessing they are actually softer so the wear ends up being about the same or Maxx will end up less. They don't give a tread warranty on the Maxx. Leaning towards AT

@brentw59 nope no spacers and no rubbing at all. Truck is bone stock except for the tires. I am more than happy with them. I have been averaging almost 19 mpg on the highway about 17 around town.

Maybe for YOU. Your motor would say otherwise. Gear hunting is shitty for the trans/motor, but 2500k rpms too high? Lmfao.

I run my 2017 2.7 all day at 2900-3k on the freeway because it actually requires less throttle to move my 265s on stock gearing, thus better mileage and less stress on drivetrain. This is ~70mph at 2900rpm in 4th for me because 5th drops me to 2350 and my whole drivetrain struggles BAD with a semi-hilly commute - I can literally hear it.

Really tired of hearing people say shit about rpms being too high and no where close to 3k rpms. Our trucks make power HIGH in the powerband, they’re meant to run at higher rpms. They aren’t high displacement V8s or forced induction making gobs of low end torque at low rpm’s.

Massive fluctuations in rpm’s (driving like an asshole between stop lights) is what destroys drivetrains, not consistent mid-level rpm’s (2500-3k). If you want to argue MPG, that’s a whole other story, but being worried about turning 2500-3000rpm on the freeway is fucking absurd mate, Proper maintenance is 100000x more important.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
I get better mpg at 79 mph45mpg in my Camry than going 60mph -40mpg.

I get shit mpg in my truck, because its a pretty heavy mofo and who gives a flying fu** about truck mpg

Looks super! How is the ride?

I am considering the Wild Peak in this size for my next tire purchase, possible to get a pic from the front and rear of the truck? I will be on similarly spec'd wheels.

I have put just over 10k miles in my tires and they still look damn good! When I get a chance I will measure tread depth.

Here’s another 33” option that is only slightly wider than a 255 80 tire:

The Kenda Klever R/T in a 33x10.50R17 size. And it is also a load D rated tire and only weighs 47 pounds which is a huge bonus. Looks like it might be a good option over most of the heavy E rated 50 plus pound 255 80 tires. Found one review that was done on them using a Tacoma by Four Wheeler using a 285/70 tire but they are available in the narrower 33/10.5:

    http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/w...-klever-rt-to-the-test-on-some-arizona-rocks/

Very aggressive looking tire also. Anyone tried this tire or size before?

I have the 35x10.5r17 klever RT. They are bad ass! They ride smoother and quieter than my old ST maxx. Also seem to stick better on rocks and clean out better in the mud. At $158 online they were a steal as far as price. They feel a little soft so they may wear quick but too early for me to tell. If it's not obvious my opinion is buy them!

Looks nice! Where did you purchase yours from? Thinking I might just go ahead and try the 33” version out.

I'm looking at this same tire/wheel combo. Any rubbing from using the SEMA wheels with the different offset from factory?
