So my low fuel warning light has suddenly stopped working on the last 3-4 tanks of gas. It normally came on when it hit 1/4 of a tank, and I've purposely let it go under that a few times now, and it's just not coming on.

Not a huge deal, as I watch my gauge and try to fill up when it hits a 1/4 anyway, but I more concerned with why it's stopped working, and if that could be a serious issue involving something else.

Haven't done any work to the truck lately, except hook up another amp a few months ago and disconnected the battery to do so. But can't remember if the light worked after that or not. I think it did however.

Thanks for any insight or input.

I hate the light in the 2011...it's only a little itty bitty yellow light that comes on at the bottom of the gage with no chime or anything...fortunately i normally dont let it get that low but i think the valet in Vegas took it for a long ride to the parking garage and used most of last 1/8th of a tank

Yours comes on around 1/4 tank? Mine comes on way after that. I usually wait till it comes on then drive another 20-30 miles before I fill up. I suggest you wait longer and maybe it will come on.

There abouts, maybe around when there's 1/8th left. I don't look at it or get my gas by it as I mentioned, but i was really really low last week, pretty much on E when I noticed, and it hadn't come on yet.

    How many miles?

With my '07 6spd mine usually comes on around 285-300 miles depending on my driving style.

Always try keep my tank at least half full. Hear if gasoline falls below half a tank, increases the danger of fire or explosion in the tank because of air to fuel ratio.

Myth...I have ran every vehicle I have ever owned down to fumes every time I run through the tank and have never had an explosion/fire or had a fuel pump failure.

mine comes on at around the 1/8th mark. Even harder to make it come on with that 4 banger sipping at a slow rate. Only seen the light once this year luckily.

When the light would come on at 1/4 of a tank were you moving? Say like on a curve or incline?

I was thinking about it at home last night, and honestly, I can't remember. Normally I got gas before it came on anyway, so maybe I am having a blonde moment and nothing's wrong with it. Very possible, been a bad last few weeks...
