I was talking to the Reno junkyard employees and I said “What a beautiful city you have.” And they all laughed and one of them said “What beautiful city?”

 

It's only beautiful in the post card.

 

I remember Reno as being somewhat cool. Been 9 years since Ive gone though. The Air Races are worth seeing. Actually happening right now I believe.

 

It’s not that bad. Although I like the Tahoe area a bit better.

 

Most describe as a smaller and sadder Las Vegas. I only spent a few hours there to pick up parts for my 4WD swap, and ate at some big casino buffet.

 

Getting into SF tonight for a weekend with the boyz, hope I don't step on a dirty needle

 

They were practicing over my house yesterday. It has it's moments and if you snowboard/ski it's a good place to be on the west coast.

 

You should visit me and @Sperrunner.

 

I went the year before that dude had a heart attack and nose dived into the stands. I hear it has a lot more safety stuff up since then.

 

I don't think you can sit in the same location as back then either. That was a gnarly crash. Super sad.

Had to look that up, hadn't heard of it...holy shit that was gnarly footage I saw. Terrible

 

Lemme know if you got time. Ghirardelli Square is great if you like ice cream. Avoid Pier 39 like the plague unless you like tourist traps and barking seals.

Also stay FAR AWAY from the Tenderloin.

 

I guess the news clips I watched says the bleachers and spectators are in the same spot but the race course was moved further away, I guess it was easier to do it that way IDK. But the pilot of the plane that crashed sounds like he was 110% responsible for the wreck, modified his plane way beyond it's capabilities and lied about his age on FAA documents so he could compete. Said that pieces of the plane were coming apart in the moments before it crashed because bolts and screws were backing out of it. Sure hope they put some more strict standards on their safety inspections now

 

That makes sense moving the course.
