Engine flush I'm dumb

I'm a stupida** I did a engine flush on both my truck and car I know I should have looked up before doing any off that but I didn't I'm just wondering if my tacoma well have damage in the engine I have already drive it about 150miles since the flush so idk if there's damage from the flush it was amsoil flush I'm so dumb

 

Did you not drain it? After running it for about 5 minutes or based on the instructions.

Your fine, I have done 2 engine flushes after each engine flush and drain after 5 minutes run time I think. I would change out to dino oil run for about 300 to 500bmiles then another oil change with synthetic. I had no adverse affects.

What is the reason for engine flush. I know it works well on toilets, but on the engine? Why?

 

Dont be so hard on yourself , you have to get in there and get your hands dirty and skin some knuckles to learn .

 

On higher mileage engines it can break loose deposits that were otherwise keeping oil from leaking through old, worn/cracked seals. Kind of the same idea why you don't want to flush a transmission if it hasn't been flushed regularly before.

If you want some peace of mind, run a high mileage branded oil since those usually have additives that help swell up seals to prevent leaks. You're probably fine just keep an eye on it to see if you find any oil leaks anywhere.

But if you read or listen to the adds from companies that make this stuff, it's magic and it fixes all your engine woes. Might even give you more HP, lol

 

the dr had me flush my innards for a colonoscopy last year
that was not fun to purge it all out
thankfully no ulcers were found!

Oh I've already had one, couple years ago...lifelong stomach issues but I'll leave it at that lol.

 

Alot of times, those flush products have some thinning agents which as previously stated remove deposits. Your biggest concerns should be 1. that you did not exceed the recommended product to engine oil ratio (like 1 can of cleaner to 1 quart or something stupid like that) or 2. that the oil pickup screen isnt clogged with crap. Some flush products have extra aluminum or boron to help actually seal the engine.

If you're concerned, do an oil change soon and make sure you replace the flter. I highly doubt there has been any damage.

My take: Consistent oil changes using any name brand synthetic oil which meets the specifications (not viscosity) should be fine in keeping the insides of your engine clean.

On that note, it's probably a good idea to make sure your mechanic isn't also your doctor

 

I did a "flush" a year or 2 ago too for chronic abdomen pain. They're like "you're clogged". No doc... Ended up going under the knife last November to remove a growth on my intestine (and took a fair bit of intestine with it). I think I posted a pic of my staples a while ago... Good times

Ok, so anyway, OP, drain that crap out, refill with regular oil, Maybe run it for 500 miles, then change it again. Watch for leaks.
