I think it goes deeper. If someone were to tell a story on how they got robbed at gunpoint, guaranteed there will be five people responding on how they should have kung-fu'd their way out. Some people just cant fathom a scenario that is beyond their control.

This made me laugh. But, seriously, that sucks that your truck went down in flames, OP. I’m glad you got out of it in time, and hope that your next vehicle is more fire resistant.

Ford dealership north of Houston about four months ago had a brand new Super Duty burn down to the ground just outside the service bay. I was driving past on the interstate and saw a bunch of employees rushing around moving other new vehicles away from the heat of the flames. Probably the most exciting thing they saw all week. Unless one of them actually sold a Ranger, then that probably took the top spot.

    Haha,
I wish I had had the chance to get my phone out. Traffic was heavy, and while I could see the black smoke from several miles south, I didn’t know what it was until I got way closer.

This thread should be an example of exactly what a totaled truck looks like.

Same here. And then I see myself driving a 2011 Ford Ranger 4X4. Guess it is because I have been looking for a low mileage Ranger. Found several with 24,000 on the clock but they want $19,000 for a 9 year old pick-up.

That's because they have rear wheel disc brakes and none of that lane-change-auto-braking-back-up-monitor-magic-key nonsense.

Yeah I hear you. Couple weeks ago I was going to buy this one up at chicago but I could not get the guy any lower than $19,700. He had it listed for $22,000. I told him I would give him $17,000 and he would not budge. He was going to give me $21,000 for my truck where damn Toyota dealership only wants to give me $19,000. This place sells allot of low mileage Rangers. He told me they don't buy them unless they are a 9 out of 10.
