Let's see your Hi-Lift Jack!

The one i want is the hi-lift extreme to much for me though.

 

It'd be cool with something like this but a full door instead of three.

Wouldn't this affect the structural integrity of the tailgate?

 

It might if you gutted the tailgate (plus you'd have to route the tailgate latch rods through the toolbox). I think the actual one sits on top of the tailgate (it just replaced the abs backing). Alas, it's not available for our trucks. It's possible though that it could be stronger if you braced it properly inside the case.

 

What structural integrity? They're like cardboard as it is.

Mine is a 60". I turned the end piece up and removed the base and keep in it in the bed cubby. It is really really tight, but it fit.

 

Looks like that barely fits. As it is you had to remove the piece on the end. I use that occasionally and like not having to look around for parts and reassemble my jack when it's time to use it.... Not to mention it looks like it could rub and wear away at the composite bed after a while. If not, it's damn close!

 

new to this things ...now i see it all the time at the bed of the truck ...can i see a picture on how it's being use...thanks

Unless you have sliders or a steel bumper or even a tire hook system thats an attachment system for the hi-lift, No Where. It will tear your truck up

 

I used mine under the drop hitch. Used it to jack the back end out of some foot deep ruts in the snow, tipped it over, and shoved the back wheels 6ft over to solid ground. I was buried to the frame in snow when the road changed from dirt covered snow to snow covered dirt and sank to the frame. Was stuck for half an hour even with 4wd and the locker. Finally said F-IT! Used the jack to move the back wheels over to solid asphalt, and then just backed out.

 

I love that attitude!

 

yeah! Wife n 3 kids were in the truck, tried taking a side road, and thought I could break through the berm. Turned out the snow got deeper faster than I though, and had ice/loose dirt underneath.

After messing with 4hi, 4lo, locker, rocking, and digging out the wheels I was tired, cold and pissed. Then I realized how the rear wheels were only a few feet from the actual road and decided maybe I could pivot the truck enough to get them back on it. No winch kit, chains, or rope so that was the last option. People call these things widow makers or whatever since they can tip so easily and drop a vehicle on your head so I figured why not use that to my advantage? Once the tires were above the ruts I tipped the jack and let them fall onto the deeper snow. The base had dug into the ground so I was like "well, wtf? why not keep jacking and push the truck?" So I did, and the rear wheels just slid through the snow. Had to repeat the process a few times due the length of the jack, but it was a lot faster than any other option. So now that's on the top of my list of things to tried again should the need arise! No more f'ing around with shovels or whatever.
