What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Haven’t done any exploring up there yet. I had plans to do the b52 and ghost trains but I’m shooting pics at the Northeast Adventure Rally now so it’ll have to wait until spring.

 

I've been to both locations multiple times, really great trips and nice drives to get there. Enjoy the rally!

Box and paperwork it had with it were authentic I believe. The bag with parts was ARB branded and had the model number 3423030 along with the brand on the outside of the bumper itself. Would also be false advertising by 4 wheel parts hardware on Amazon if it was a fake. Pretty sure it is a real one though, not sure what else I could check to see if it is. Any suggestions??

I modified the bracket that came with them so the pod would sit deeper in the bracket making the overall height shorter so it fit nice and snug in the grill. I cut the cross section of the grill and drilled a hole in the inside. So they're actually just mounted to the bumper. I wasn't sure if they would be stable but they're solid, no movement what so ever.

 

I really want to do that. Get two sets if rigid pods, spot and flood and mount them like you. But I already cut out my lower grille mounts for my light bar so I'd need a new front bumper.

 

You talking about getting rid of the light bar?

 

What are they? I was thinking of doing LEDs in the bumper but that's a lot of work and wiring.

I have 2 Hook Road roof racks. One on the truck one on the cap. They are solid as hell. They don't have the mounting slots like the Prinsu and are all heavy gauged steel with SS parts. For the price you can't go wrong.

 

These just replace your reverse light bulbs. Sealight 912 led bulbs from Amazon. see below in 'Products Discussed'

Stock Tokicos were shot they had the compression of a bicycle pump. The Dobinsons gave me 2.5” of travel.


Also took off the stock spare 245/75/16 and replaced it with my 17” FJ steelie w/265/70/17

 

Search this forum for door lock actuator repair. Buy the motors on eBay and replace them. Patience and you’ll save money.

 

It wasn’t bad. Just take your time. Get everything back where it goes.

 

Labels and packaging are easily faked to be like the real deal. Is it serialized anywhere with anything unique? "4 wheel parts hardware" could easily be an impersonator trying to sound like the name of a real company. Lots of ripoff 3P resellers on Amazon dint care about false advertising and come and go with no consequence. Most customers dont even know they've been had.

 

Good find on the ARB bumper and looks awesome on your truck.

 

The bumper itself has the ARB logo made into the lower right hand side. If its a knock off then they did a great job with the finish and precision around each piece. And put a lot of work into copying the exact design of ARB on the bumper itself and the parts bag and box. I just registered it with ARB. Pretty sure it is real.
