HELP!! Rubbing Issue

So y’all , I have a 13’ Tacoma with OME 885 coils and bilstien 5100 adj shocks @ stock setting (according to what I read that’s what you want them set on with OME coils). I was running 285/75r16 with the factory oem wheels (16x7) and 1.25” spacers with no rub. Today I put 16x8 wheels on with the the same tires and now I am rubbing my cab mount.

I’m trying to see if there is a way I can get rid of the rub. Maybe taking my spacers off ? Or adding a coil spacer to my truck to lift it more? I don’t know if removing the wheel spacers will do any good, wanting to ask before I go and pull them off

 

You can either do a BMC or do spc UCAs to pull your tires forward an inch away from the body mount or just take off the spacers because a 16x8 is enough to clear everything at that point.

 

285 tires are going to need a Cab(body) mount chop. If you do any off roading the running will get worst. Order the CMC plates from BAMF and see if there’s anyone in your region TW that does them. Lift doesn’t really help with tire clearance when it comes to width.

 

Body mount chop, moving the wheels forward an 1" is going to really mess with your other alignment spec.

 

We do this all day and get alignments all back into specs. Care to elaborate a bit more on this?

 

Take off your wheel spacers since you don't need them anymore because of your backspace on your aftermarket wheels. It'll give you more clearance on your cab mount.

 

It just depends on the uses of the truck. I ran my 295s for a few months with no cmc and it clears. I ended up doing the chop because i plan to take it offroading.

 

How much lift do you have?

 

Update: @Timinatorx92 just pulled the wheel spacers off and have not rub! I am very close to the cab mounts though. I’m gonna try to squeeze a bit more room out of it with the alignment to see if that helps. That’s for the help y’all !

 

i'm running a 3" lift, but my actual numbers is a tad bit above 3" in the front. Even tho it's a 600lb coils, my truck is an access cab with stock weight in the front so i assume that's why it sits a little higher than what a double cab would be. But that small difference in lift height isn't going to affect tire clearance that much. most of my clearance is due to alignment and running 0 offset wheels.

 

Since it’s Prerunner like my 2015. Remove the spacer and have your alignment guy get as much positive caster as possible. I’m running 3” lift and 285/70/17 on 17x8.5 -10 no cmc caster set at 4* ( have jba ucas)

 

I ran 285’s for a year with no rubbing on the street. But as soon as I added spacers and hit the dirt, rubbing cab mount like crazy. Got the CMC, now plenty of clearance, don’t have to worry at all. Get the CMC. Thanks @GHOST SHIP!

 

When I first saw the pic in OP, I knew a CMC would fix all that. I understand that some people are hesitant to do the chop- I even delayed doing it on my own truck until I absolutely needed to (when I got the SCS wheels). If done properly, it's a harmless mod with a bunch of benefits to stuff the meats.
