    I filled it up back when we had that series of earthquakes out here this summer, wanted to make sure I had some gas ready to go in case shit hit the fan and the gas stations were packed or out of order. Forgot about it until this trip came up.

    Ah okay, no ethanol free stations around you? I have one full can at home that I use for the lawn mower and I recently filled the Z with ethanol free too. I know I'll be storing those.

    No idea but I just looked it up, there's a station in Hesperia and one in Riverside...both about equally distant from me (hour 15 min). Next time I'm out that way I'll fill one up

    i litterally just thought the same thing! lol i run the lawn mower, my dirt bikes, all my small engines on ethanol free. and the lack of ethanol also helps make it last longer

    Ive been doing this as well lately, or if I dont I use it, in the driveway I put it in the truck. I dont wanna store gas in the garage with my water heater in there. Probably safe in the jerry can, but it just makes me nervous.

    @eon_blue where ya going?

    @Empty_Lord So stoich is 14.3 on E10.... does that mean that a computer shooting for 14.7 (stoich on pure gasoline) is running an engine even leaner?

    We're going to hit up Laurel Lakes near Mammoth, haven't gotten to get all the way up there yet. Hoping it won't be crowded

    hmm thats a great question... likely. ill watch fuel trims next time i run my truck on it

    feels more peppy for sure. MPG goes up slightly. (likely from running leaner)

    It blew my mind when I learned an overcharged AC could also blow hot, but it made sense after some reading

    With a proper tune for it, which every modern vehicle has, its great stuff. Just don't let it sit. But my thought with things like my Z and cruiser which were designed for pure fuel, is that they're running a bit lean because the stoich is lower for E10. Anyway won't matter soon for the Z, that's getting a flex fuel sensor, maybe the cruiser too, but that project is farther out.

    Its a fun trail and definitely awesome. If you get the site in the trees, it will be protected a bit from the wind, and theres an awesome granite slab perfect for laying on and watching the stars. I was bummed I didnt hike up to the mine when I was there. Hope you get that camp site. But there are some good ones by the lake too.

    ive had much better luck with ethanol free storing longer than e10. but that may be a regional thing... our e10 has alot of water in it compared to what it should
