I have over 150 coins in a rubbermaid tub, all wrapped up. I keep telling myself I'm going to build a wall display for them, but then I remember how much I hate dusting shit.

Hell, I still have all my ALIS gear in the attic. Won't let it go. Wife gives me the stink eye, but doesn't argue. Too many memories there.

It got left in a storage bin for a few years, written off on a report-of-survey, and found while looking for some other shit. "Oh, so that's where that stupid thing went!"

Sounds like two $120k talon robots our supply accidentally brought back from a deployment. Found them when we got a new supply guy. Made for some great predeployment training, normally only fall in on that stuff.

It’s gotta have every possible gadget hanging off of it with some paint job to make it look like a turd for them to be happy with it.

For me, an ACOG is nice.

Never got into the ACOG thing. I like my aimpoint red dot with fold out of the way 3x. :notsure: Each his own.

I liked my ACOG, but I’m also not going to spend that much on a sight for my personal AR. It’s different when uncle sugar buys it.

Yeah, but I will save on AA batteries. I have had the same AA battery in it for 6 years now and have yet to turn it off.

What’s the service interval on the tritium, something like 12-15 years? I remember that it’s a depot level issue, but that’s it’s.

Not sure but I know they start to dry out and crack after about 6 years. At least that’s what ours all did. That’s also after a few year long tours in the desert and lots of trips to Yakima and other field training.

That’s the fiber optic tube, not the tritium. The tritium is the radioactive stuff encased inside that makes the reticle glow when there’s no light.

Is there something else you’re supposed to do in the evening other than drink?
