It just occurred to me the guy reading the schematic was the same MF'r who I did everything but actually hit when he signed off acft forms before ops check...using my name.

... I really shoulda decked that guy.

 

I’ve come to the understanding at this point in my life that I can’t hit hard enough to knock some sense into some people.

 

Yep, had to explain that one on one to a new commander my last year on active duty. He was going on and on in emails about what we could have done for this dumbshit NCO who made real stupid decisions and wound up in the brig doing time. My exact words were "Sir, we can't fix stupid, our job is to lead, mentor, and take care the ones we can fix to take care of the mission." He actually said a couple weeks later at his commander's call, "I get it, you can't fix stupid." Good man, he was on base here this Summer, 10 yrs later, and stopped by to see me and a couple of the old GOBs like me who are still around the squadron.

 

I just don’t get it at times. Thinking isn’t that hard. Seems to be even worse now people are keyboard warriors and think they can do and say anything without repercussions.

Couple years back my wife and I were in the store and we got in line to the checkout. We got in one of the like 12-15 item lines. We didn’t think we had much. It was winter so my wife had laid her coat in the cart, she picks it’s up and there are about 5-6 extra things under the coat we had missed in making sure we were under. We are both like crap (wouldn’t have got in the lane had we realized). Guy behind me starts running his mouth being an asshole about it. I said sorry was an honest mistake, he keeps his crap up and I finally had enough. I turned around and said REALLY? Is this the thing you want to get your ass beat over. He looked at me and went to say something and I told him keep running your mouth and I’ll break this into single item transactions just for the hell of it. He was kind of close to me at that point and I think he got the picture that he was about to get his ass whooped and he backed down and shut his mouth. I’m like how freaking stupid can you be.

 

People, I hate them.

Ya far too many are far too stupid for their own good. I wonder how they remember to breathe at times. We all do stupid things now and again, but damn don’t make a career out of one upping your own stupidity.
