Windrock downhill looks crazy. Maybe in a year or so I’ll have the balls to try it.

There are several really good places in the Birmingham area to go to. I have still not ridden oak mtn yet.

Tannehill is close enough to my house to be able to ride after work and we are usually one of the only people out there. It’s pretty nice

@stronghammer we can try Mountain Mist trail. It starts up top and works its way down the side of the mountain half way down the paved hill climb in to the park. Its super rocky and technical towards the top and has some fun switch backs. Back when I was riding a lot, it was an accomplishment to stay upright the entire trail. haha.

so you want to come out with us in the morning to monte sano? you're more than welcome.

I might could use that Yakima mounting fork...

I've done Mountain Mist, just not that top portion because we went the other direction on it lol and going up was impossible. I also don't think I'm qualified to go down that portion without hurting myself.

Yeah, going down that top portion is a challenge and is quite the balancing act at times especially when using clip in pedals like I have. I most likely won't attempt that trail again until I get my confidence back on my bike. Don't want to take any sharp boulders to my knee caps.

I blame my dad for some of the bike stuff I have. He used to race road bikes competitively on the state level and was pretty darn good. His snobbiness when it comes to bikes and biking gear rubbed off on me to an extent. He would murder me if I bought a Walmart bike.

Flats are the way to go. I have a set similar to the race face chester, but half the price. I’m fearing the day it runs down my shin though.

I wish I could but gotta watch the little one tomorrow morning. But maybe next Saturday! Y’all need to take mountain mist south enterance (off Bucca) into Goat Trail back to Three benches and out mountain mist back to the cutoff road. That’s an ass whooper.

And Scotty that mount is yours. Still have the key for it too.
