I eat at 6 am, 9 am, noon, 3pm, 7pm, 930pm every day (saturday is different cuz cheat meal). Cutting or bulking. I always eat 6x. Times never change.

You're not finishing your meals because you aren't hungry for them (or you hate them lol). Biggest way to finish the meal is dedication. After 6 years I have my moments of struggle - but I know why I am doing it and if I want it that bad I will eat that stupid fucking rice.

Each week I do change seasonings and the way food is cooked - but the food itself doesn't change.

Are those lower posts too low to do an emergency bail on? Seems I remember benching on something like that back in my "commercial" gym days and they are just high enough to set it down right above your neck! lol But enough to turn your head sideways and scoot out if you absolutely have to. :)

I have a pretty good balance. Work 8-6 M-F and usually 4-6 hours every other Saturday, maybe a couple on Sunday, just depends on the month. But, I am in the office until midnight a couple of times a month, usually the day before a trial or document deadline.

Hands down criminal defense. I like employment law too.

I have to learn all these different areas to keep myself busy. I don’t have enough business in one to keep me afloat. Maybe it will get to that point one day, but it’s not now. Litigation is litigation though. There are certain nuances to each area of law but once you know how to litigate, you can apply that across a bunch of different types of law.

My cardio comes from reps. For instance today was shoulder day so I began with OH Press and worked up to some heavy singles and doubles and then backed off to multiple sets of 8 and 10 reps

I eat breakfast, and I try to make that 90min before I lift and then I eat a snack on my way to the gym (all carbs) and then a shake and pop tart post workout and then eat lunch within an hour. Then I don’t eat again until dinner (no carbs) and lastly a shake before bed. I’m never really “hungry” but I am always ready for my dinner, while the other meals I just eat to eat...

I only have a spotter if I’m truly going for a 1RM because I don’t want to waste energy unracking it. As long as you don’t use clips while you’re by yourself you will be fine. Just get it to your chest then dump one side and then the other and you’re good to go

I dont use BCAAs during, but certainly before and after. They are supposed to help on long cardio sessions, but I don't notice it on runs or rides, but I do notice on power-endurance routines. IE trying to crank out sets of 20 on squats or the bench.

If you had a spotter you would always fail on your last rep, now you have the motivation to push through.

Weighed in at 157 this morning. I also made it up 3 flights of stairs this morning with no knee pain which is a pretty awesome way to start the day.

Easy 5 miler recovery run is on the agenda this afternoon.

Kick ass and get er done!

I laughed at the 3 flights - I can't wait for full bulk mode when I have to take a break in the middle of tying my shoe, LOL.

The "brilliance" of the young teenage mind, I remember when I first started working out and desperately wanted to bench a 45 on each side. Went to the gym one day that it was completely empty-even the front desk person was somewhere else. So I decided "today is my day to try to put up 135, so if I fail no one will be here to see it and I won't be embarrassed!" So I get a quick warm up in and go for it. Halfway up it stops and starts coming back down! I suddenly realized the stupidity of my thought process. lol So as I'm laying there trying not to freak out and figure out what to do I hear someone coming in (the gym was in the basement). And in a surge of panic and pride, I pushed that weight up! I'm sure it wasn't pretty but it went up!

I did as well in the commercial gyms simply because most people don't know how to spot! As soon as the bar slows down they want to grab it or they feel like they have to have their hands under the bar (touching it) the whole time etc...People that worked out with me regularly knew when I needed a spot and how but if I was alone I never asked. Now I work out at home and don't have the option. Thankfully my weight rack has spotter bars and I can set them for bench so that if I lay completely flat and exhale I can set the bar on the safety spots and slide out. Haven't had to yet but came close a couple times!

I lift at both a commercial gym and a powerlifting gym that has benches like you have at home. I don’t max at commercial gyms because I’d end up hurting myself on their shitty equipment. Even just doing heavy doubles or triples there I usually end up with a sore back vs. when I use the good equipment at the other gym...

Regardless of equipment, I’m not going to push myself to find my 1RM (most recently 330lbs) if I don’t have someone there who can grab the bar off me. Even if I could slide out from under it I wouldn’t risk it with that weight...

I think the majority of the time you shouldn’t need a spotter because you shouldn’t be pushing yourself to failure. IMO thats too much injury risk and requires too much recovery which hinders your ability to train and improve. Theres a difference between progressive overload and just plain overload.

I've tried weight thats getting up there but know I've done before-just haven't done it in a while-(365 is usually what I like to minimally maintain) but have yet to really push the max alone. I'm with you, don't want to knowingly risk that. My spotter racks are more for reps if I get gassed on a final rep or if something goes wrong in the rep.

330 is enough to hurt you - not something you can safely roll off your chest and on to the bench. I agree with this. I think we can all agree that serious weight is worth someone's full attention and better judgment.
