    ‘Morning @Cuffs

Did you see/hear any wolves on the Isle? (I don’t know it it’s still going on but it was the location of a longitudinal study of wolf-moose dynamics..)

Yes! I’ve been following that program closely!

No sightings. But 3 of the nights we could hear them howling. I think there’s 14 (they just added one more last week). They had not been ‘packing up’ yet-according to the researchers. We heard 3 distinct voices howling together one night.

    Lots of moose seen.
    A dozen garter snakes.
    Painted turtle.
    Osprey.
    Beaver. The rodent kind.

The only downside to the trip was that I got a screaming infection of swimmers itch on my lower legs.

All right creeper lol most likely it is from the large flying rats Canadian Geese . Happens a lot places there are high concentrations of them. Hence not a lot of people want them around thier property and ponds / lakes. Essentially your swimming in thier toilet ..;(

Awesome!!! Except for the infection. Hope it clears soon.. Lotsa moose = fewer wolves as I understand it..

I applaud your willingness to jump in at this point- I’m at the stage where all fresh water has flesh eating bacteria, all grass and woods have lymes disease or rocky mtn spotted fever toting ticks and salt water is full of sharks waiting to dine on everyone..

Years ago my wife and I took a trip up to Ely MN in the middle of winter hoping to see some wolves. She had a conference in Duluth so we figured why not.

We were staying at a dog sled lodge way outside of town. It was dark by the time we got to the area and we had to stop for a Moose on the way there. It stayed there for about 5-10 minutes.. We didn’t think anything of it because we were used to seeing them at home

Thinking it was no big deal, we told the lodge guy and his wife and they were very impressed/interested. Wanted to know all the details. We asked about wolves and were told they sometimes come around...no big deal
    for them.

We went to town the next day and asked about the places to see wolves. People were like why do you want to see them? They get in my trash all the time....We would then tell them about the moose roadblock and everyone was astounded. Wanted to hear all about it. Apparently wolves make moose pretty scarce

The only wolves we saw were at the International Wolf Center. They had two beautiful arctic wolves at the time, they and the others were playing around, hide and seek, wild stuff to see.

My wife made the mistake of getting Alaskan crab legs for dinner and spent the night and most of the morning being violently ill to the point she hasn’t ordered crab legs again to this day.

We took some hikes and only found some frozen wolf tacks and what were surmised to be wolf scat...

Several displaced Maine neighbors around us. One comes down for the winter. I think they’re “in the program”. You could come down on “vacation “:boink:

Why would I come way over their and see my neighbors....
I'm trying to avoid them. Especially the "program ones"

    True story
Went to Disney many many years ago.
Walking through Epcot and watched my next door neighbor walk by.
Never knew they were coming down..
