    looks like a bent exhaust valve on cylinder 4. just one tho. seems weird. tranny is coming out soon and then motor will be pulled. not till next week tho

    On a quickchange pulley install, can I install it as a whole or should I install just the hub then screw on the pulley?

    Install the hub first. Attach the pulley after the hub is properly seated. (Note that the hub will likely have to be recessed behind the shaft's leading edge for the belt to ride properly.)

    You may recall, @JuanitoBunito, but I should have mentioned you'll probably need a couple of washers or a socket to seat the hub properly (i.e., past the leading edge of the shaft)...

    To add further, Ferrea used to be the only of the two to sell the stock size. Over sized were additional cost. They were at a slightly higher price point than Super Tech.

    Super Tech would only sell oversized valves, and stock size were additional cost. May have changed. However, oversized means head work.

    Look up both to see what the options are now, as that was from 5 years ago, when I ordered mine.

    It fits fine in there with plenty of room. I cut off the stock hangers and welded my own back on in the correct orientation. Rotating it simply made it easier for me to mount up to my current exhaust without adding more bends.
    I am not worried at all about the weep holes. It is close to the bottom so any exhaust pressure will force the water out. Drilling a new hole will not do much for you anyway as the internal baffles also have weep holes so you would only be getting 2 of the 4 holes anyway.
    Just get that puppy on there and post what you think. These are on 3 Tacoma's and 1 FJ that I know of and all 4 of us really wanted quiet power with little rumble. That is exactly what you get and it works very well for our application.

    Is the idea behind this that the muffler is less restrictive since its for a v8, but quiet because its the stock one? Curious how much more flow this would have over my TRD catback muffler. But wait.. is this a 3" inlet or 2.5"?

    Yes, exhaust manufacturers actually get criteria from the oem's as far as how much pressure rise (resistance) to exhaust flow is acceptable for each vehicle. My theory is that it is a muffler designed for a 5.7 liter V8 with 395hp and 410 tq so it has to flow well enough to not be too restrictive for that engine. Since we are boosted and need the extra exhaust flow for best performance I set out to find something that would work for us with minimal restriction and noise.

    I will post pics of the internals again here so y'all can see. Yes I cut a perfectly good almost brand new muffler apart because i am..........me. :D
