8112s just arrived. Adding the numbers for the 650lb coils as the part numbers on their website don’t show these. Confirmed by bilstein by email.

And thanks @HeadStrong Off-Road for the best deal when I was shopping!!!

Anyone running 8112s at the 1.5" lift setting on stock UCAs??

Wondering if I can get away with stock UCAs and upgrade down the road or if thats a stupid idea and should just get UCAs now

Get the UCAs now...paying extra for an alignment. Lol

I learned the hard way. UCAs with the correct spec simply rides better. I find it hard to believe people spend money on coilovers for 1500-2500 and settle for stock UCAs.

Thanks thats all I needed to hear. I knew eventually wanted to do it right just sort of fell into this lift ahead of schedule, found a set of 8112s for a good deal and jumped on it but then realized I still need to spend another $3k+ to do it right with leaf pack/shackles, rear 8100s and UCAs lol.

But you're right better to just do it right the first time.

Anyone running the highest height setting? I have the 650ib springs at slightly above the mid height setting. No bumper and it has sagged pretty good. Truck has a good rake to it now. I just don’t want to crank it up and lose ride quality.

Also I have now seen a few people put small spacers above these shocks due to their height issues up front. Anyone here done this?

why did you do the 650lb coils vs 700#? You and I are running practically the same bumper. The 700# have broken in so well for me I don't see why 650# would be a good idea

Not sure why a 3rd gen specific aftermarket suspension would come with lower coil spring rate than factory?

I’m currently running 650lb springs now with 6112. I would only do 700 if I had a full size bumper winch etc etc.

Interesting. Only reason I ask is because the stock OR is a 700# and I run that with the C4 Lo-pro bumper (similar to your current bumper) and a Smitty 9500 winch (135lbs total + sliders weight) and the springs are amazing. I literally got back 10mins ago from some pretty gnarly trails here in Idaho and even with the 700# coils I was crushing my front aftermarket bumps pretty good at some points, but the blows were pretty soft and absorbed. I don't think a 700# coil would be enough with a full 150# bumper + winch (200-250lbs)

Plenty of coilovers that come with 600 coils like icons king and fox

There’s plenty of people out there with 700lb springs with the full overland setup up front. 650lb is perfect for me.

If I had to guess....it’s all due to valving and the R&D of the coilovers as a whole. Example per bilstein 6112s should not be running 700lb springs although people are doing so and doing fine as far as I know. Someone else can chip in and explain if they have a better answer.

I'm aware that 600 pounds is common. Mostly on 1st gen fronts. Not so much 3rd gen. I understand valving has to do with it, but I'm pretty sure valving shouldn't be what is holding your weight

Indeed. That’s because the 3rd gen is 300lbs heavier in the front end stock than the 2nd gen

I’m no expert, what I do know is that I’ve talked to people just running 600lb springs on Kings and icons with no added weight and there is no issue. I ran 6112 on the coils it came with at 600lbs before I added weight and felt great!

650lb has held the weight of my truck just fine and gave me more lift then intended.

8112 installed with 650coils. Im still tryna figure out if I can add a bit more without sacrificing ride @Despized as you said you have tinkered with the system multiple times. Looks about 38” or so ground to floor or 22 1/8” From hub to fender for both sides.

For those that have moved to 650 and 700 # springs: did you swap them out yourself? Ive dealt with car coilovers for years, but these bulky SOB's are an entirely different animal.

So I just put an order in with the 700lb springs, has anyone switched the stock springs out themselves or should I just have them put together before I get them? Trying to save a few dollars

Well for anyone curious, these shocks rock! My weight is handled perfectly and from the roads I've driven and trails traversed, worth it!

Yeah. Real proud of that product. I'm sure it is a fantastic product no doubt. Something that price though? You're looking at names like king ads ect that have known higher end performance. Bilstein is not a half ass solution, bit leery on that kind of money when you already have established companies with support, valving ect already done
