Their insurance should cover everything. Not sure about the diminished value thing. Honestly, I've never heard of it before. I think you will be OK. It's just a tail light and a scratch. Not like major paint or body work. Don't stress over it. What's done is done. Sorry it had to had to you.

New Taco owner here out of San Diego.. so far, added the predator steps, swapped out the cheese grater for Taco Garages Black on Black pro grill (highly recommend), chrome delete, 10% on the windows.

Didn’t want to do anything but man, now I understand why everyone loves their truck! Currently am shopping around for a solid bed bar system to add a tent, Prinsu rack, and going to be ordering the Baja Designs Amber Fogs. I literally told all of my friends that I’m not going to be doing anything to this truck but everyday I find something new I want to add. Any rec’s on a simple bed bar system?

Just put the other one on the passenger side a few minutes ago. The pad comes with a film over it that you remove. Cut your (3) 3M strips place lengthwise, 1 top, 1 bottom,
1 middle. Clean the mounting surface with denatured (rubbing) alcohol. Remove the protective film on the other side of the 3M tape, align and press. You're done!
Enjoy! Great mod I just wish it was my idea. No matter we all share here.

If you plan on keeping it for the long haul I wouldn't worry about it. If like some you get a new one every couple years I'd think about the downside if it's reported to Carfax. Do what you feel suits you best.

There we go. That's the answer I was looking for.

I plan on having it at least 5 more years, so I'll hold off. I cant imagine a truck with 120k miles and a minor ding that is repaired is worth any significant amount less than one with no dings.

My 2011 was 6 years old when t-boned an ultimately totalled by the adjuster. 60k and immaculate inside and out. Not a single door ding, perfect paint. Not a mall crawler I just took very good care of it. Insurance co. cut me a check for 24k.
Just something for you to use as a basepoint. Hope that helps.

Welcome to TW. Nice looking truck. I said I wasn't going to do anything several thousand dollars ago. I also said I'm not going to do anything else. That was a lie. Personally, I have spent enough money on mods on the last few vehicles that I could have bought another car or two. Oh well. It's an addiction. Good luck and have fun with it.

If you have a 401K w/ your company and they match money, definitely contribute as much as you can afford. At least 10%. Compound interest is your friend. 7% return for 7 years and your money can double. 40 years of working and saving for retirement and you can have a very nice retirement. Not retired yet, but working on it.

This is the latest that I know of. There is a little GAME that you will/might have to play with the dealer. Tell them that you were at around 7000' elevation and the truck started to act up just like the TSB says. If that say that they have to test drive it tell them that it only happens at around 7000' and that there is no place around here (?) to get it to do it. Hope that helps and if you have any questions P.M. me.

In the same boat here. My Dad is in a tough situation with retirement due to a combination of not planning properly and a few emergencies along the way. I've most definitely learned from his mistakes. I'm turning 30 in about a month or so and already consider myself more prepared than he is.

I understand people do it but it's not recommended. If you look at the chart for that size tire the chart recommends a 7.5 to 9.5 inch wheel. The wheel you have is only 7 inches wide. I believe there is a safety factor involved. I personally wouldn't do it but it's not my truck. Best of luck and hope it works out for you.
