Welcome to TW. Nice looking truck. I said I wasn't going to do anything several thousand dollars ago. I also said I'm not going to do anything else. That was a lie. Personally, I have spent enough money on mods on the last few vehicles that I could have bought another car or two. Oh well. It's an addiction. Good luck and have fun with it.

If you have a 401K w/ your company and they match money, definitely contribute as much as you can afford. At least 10%. Compound interest is your friend. 7% return for 7 years and your money can double. 40 years of working and saving for retirement and you can have a very nice retirement. Not retired yet, but working on it.

This is the latest that I know of. There is a little GAME that you will/might have to play with the dealer. Tell them that you were at around 7000' elevation and the truck started to act up just like the TSB says. If that say that they have to test drive it tell them that it only happens at around 7000' and that there is no place around here (?) to get it to do it. Hope that helps and if you have any questions P.M. me.

In the same boat here. My Dad is in a tough situation with retirement due to a combination of not planning properly and a few emergencies along the way. I've most definitely learned from his mistakes. I'm turning 30 in about a month or so and already consider myself more prepared than he is.

I understand people do it but it's not recommended. If you look at the chart for that size tire the chart recommends a 7.5 to 9.5 inch wheel. The wheel you have is only 7 inches wide. I believe there is a safety factor involved. I personally wouldn't do it but it's not my truck. Best of luck and hope it works out for you.

Today I did the tweeter upgrade:
    BC61442-B-1457-4-F3-F-824-C-F67773-BBC49_3d3fa4dac91cc76ede7588013dec41771ff51e5c.jpg

Not Earth shattering but a definite noticeable audio upgrade.

Also, I finally upgraded my spare situation with a Method wheel and a new 265/70/17:

Yes some charts do show that 7" is too narrow for 265s. But this 7" TRD Pro Sema wheel that so many of us are running are designed for and spec'd with 265/70-17 tires by Toyota. Do see folks running 285s, personally would go with wider wheels for that size.

Finally got the dashcam hardwired in and the rear camera cable routed. A-pillar was relatively easy to remove bu the B and C pillars were an absolute bitch and a half. I didn't even get the C pillar undone/out; wound up just using a coat hanger to fish the rear camera cable through that corner. I couldn't get the trim tool into the space between the airbag medallion and the pillar itself to pop it out. The hardwire kit had the wrong sort of fuse on it so I had to snip that off and crimp on an add-a-circuit/fuse which was its own adventure...but it all worked out in the end!

Pondering what my next mod will be. I also bought an overkill towstrap from Tractor Supply so now I guess recovery points are up next, or close to next.

Bakflip MX4 installed today. I had some trouble with Truck Hero making this install a frustration. Initial shipment contained hardware for a Nissan Titan! Sigh. Nine days, numerous emails and a phone call or two later and it's finally done. Some quality issues, imho. Seals crooked, a slightly bent rail I was able to remedy and a messed up nut thread. Luckily I ended up with extras because of the shipping error. It looks good (the easy part), hopefully wont leak much.

That is correct. It states its compatible with OE 265/70-17 but some of the trucks, like mine, come with 265/65-17 and I dont see anything that states they are compatible with that size tire. I've read where others have mentioned the same thing that I'm mentioning. By no means am I trying to argue or get in a pissing match with anyone. I was just bringing it up as I've seen it posted before and just want ALL of the TW members to be safe and aware of what I've read in the past. I passed on getting these wheels because of that and have FN FX Pro 8" wheels on order. I had the best of intentions when I mentioned this and I'll leave it at that so MOD on.
