2nd gen manual transmission fix

I did not, turns out my apartment complex frowns upon dropping transmissions in their parking lot lol. I had a really awesome local shop do the job for me!

 

@406cruiser neither the fx200 or fx250 are listed, id like to have one of these options for us supercharged guys with mild set-ups - heres what i can see on their site, let us know if they can add these to take advantage of the GB !

Ya I plan on doing the same. Don't think it should be to difficult for local transmission shop to put it in.

 

That's awesome PacTac, glad you're liking it and that the install went smooth, it really is a super easy install, but yeah I probably wouldn't want to do it in an apartment complex lot regardless if they let me do it or not lol! Thankfully the trans on these rigs is pretty easy to pull so a shop can actually do the whole thing relatively quickly, especially if they're at all familiar with these trucks.

If anyone else is intersted in an FX200 or FX250 these would be special order clutches for these trucks. I told garciav that even with the supercharger, the FX100 is more then capable of handling the little bit of extra power (it has more clamping force then OEM, and they handle the superchargers output well), not to mention the organic friction material is just a dream to drive, it's just soo smooth. The other clutches are very smooth as well but there's just nothing you can really compare to the organic material and it's overall drivability. They can definitely be made though but if that is something you want to do you're going to have to give Clutch Masters a call to place the order.

Modified supercharged trucks are making 400+ hp. It’s taken us a while to get there. But, we’re there.

At that power level, I don’t think that a twin disk setup is really “necessary”. It would be awesome though.

If CM could develop something that has a nice light pedal feel and nice smooth engagement that will also bite hard during a 4wd launch...

I’m betting we could sell a few.

All I want is the perfect “dream” clutch. Is that too much to ask?

According to their chart, a fx300 looks like a good choice for the increased boost, heavy rig club. I think several have fried the OEM clutch on the stock S/C in less than 20k mi.

What did you use to remove the steel sleeve?

 

Mine lasted 8k miles

 

Is your steel sleeve corroded onto your aluminum quill?

 

@Athlaos I know you have the old URD Hydro bearing, but this might be a nice upgrade..

Yes, i put the s/c on at 45k and was putting an upgraded clutch in it at the 53k mark.

 

This^^^ i downsized the pulley two days after adding the blower. Also did cam gears for the UCon when the blower went on

 

Yep, looks to be exactly the same principle. Not bad price too. The only benefit to the URD one is it allows one to use a Mustang hydro bearing as a replacement if needed, which is fairly cheap.

 

Haven’t looked yet. Just thinking about what needs to be done when I get the hydro bearing. I know it was tight as hell to get one when I installed it.

 

That's interesting.. mine was the complete opposite, it slid right into place easily. I would be careful removing it.. Dont want to break the quill off when trying to separate the two
