Whenever we have a recall campaign on our Rams, we have to wait months for parts. Months. Then we get the inevitable letter informing us everything is still on backorder and that if we purchase the part from somewhere else (Geno's!) and have it installed that we can resubmit the bills for reimbursement. That's customer service for ya....yep.

This was the same FCA that was fined $105M by the fucking feds for improperly handling 23 separate recalls and was forced to buy back 578,000 vehicles because owners had to wait over 18 months or repairs.

I like the wranglers as the next poseur, and I love me my Cummins as well. However I am nowhere delusional enough to advise someone that their customer service is anything but the runny shits.

As for Jeeps not having rust issues...

Statistics has to come in somewhere. Not choosing sides but stating that Jeep still produces slightly more Wranglers than Toyota produces Tacomas, with the delta between the two being larger as you progress backwards year over year. Tacoma having recalls for a larger share of vehicles, also means a larger overall percentage of vehicles recalled. The recall for the rear diffs was nearly every Tacoma produced in that window.

Of course you can look at that as every Tacoma from late 16 to 17 essentially had a simliar issue to the 3.4k Jeeps listed in the OPs recall link, or that Toyota is willing to fix the issues whereas Jeep may not be. I've seen enough leaky rear diffs to know how I see it.

Toyota also recalled 31k Tacomas for stalling while driving. My 2017 did this multiple times and wasnt included in the recall. This was a scary situation, truck shutting off doing 60 on the highway.

As well as the brake booster failure recall, albeit a small group, still 3k vehicles. Always nice to lose braking pressure.

I tried to say I had a headache but I owed her a solid.

Recalls can be interpreted many ways. They can be forced, proactive, reactive, a yardstick for manufacturing issues a yardstick for design issues, etc.

However, FCA is absolutely the shits when it comes to handling recalls. The worst. So bad that they were fined by the Feds for improperly handling 23 recalls and making owners wait over 18 months for recall repairs. They were forced by the feds to buy back over a half million cars. They have set the low bar when it comes to this.

To this day, I have been waiting over 9 months on recalls to be performed on my 2016 Cummins. Neither one is minor. Absolutely inexcusable and embarrassing.

Had a JK once for a whopping 4K miles. Jeep bought it back after multiple issues. Luckily the dealer was kind enough to do so. Manual transmission gear linkages failed. 2 broken oil filter housings (don’t like cold weather). Throw out bearing failed. A failed brake caliper. Leaking rear differential. Leaking cabin. Multiple electronic shorts and failures to include being unable to disable cruise control. Mysterious throttle surges. Unbalanced driveshaft. Spent more time in the service department than on the road.
It was bought brand new, and it almost killed me a few times. Dealer service department treated it as though these were normal things, despite the fact that I wrestled with cruise control on the highway, almost plowing into a car at 70mph. Never another FCA product again.

My Tacoma hasn’t been flawless or refined, but it’s plenty reliable and I’m confident it won’t kill me. My local Toyota dealers have been nothing short of outstanding. I also, however, approach them with a respectful manner and tone. 30k miles and only a faulty weeping RMS (poorly produced from factory).

Personally I've never had any luck for recalls that matter for safety. I had a Chevy with a recall on the gas tank pump, it would leak, ours did and you could smell gasoline all the time. Dangerous really and Chevy basically just ordered the parts, didnt issue a rental and it took a couple months to get it dealt with. Same thing with the infamous ignition switch.

The Tacoma rear diff thing ended up being just shy of a 3 month hold, but at least they gave a rental.

It might not be an issue with what is being manufactured now, but the TIPM has a special place of hate in my heart. It didn't help that I had to re-direct the dealer's troubleshooting efforts from dropping the gas tank to check for a few signals to something much simpler. I think that much of how I feel about FCA has to do with poor dealership experiences. It's been several years now, maybe they've changed for the better...

Jesus H. I made it a minute in.

Look at his fucking fake ass operator as fuck hat, next frame he’s wearing a salmon fucking button up shirt. THIS is what I’m talking about with Jeep owners. I would make this pussy carry my laundry bag back to nap-nap time at bunk.

Go-fund these nuts against your chin, coyote works.

There’s one main reason that so many aftermarket parts exist for Jeeps.

Good news for FIat is; nearly all built are still on the dealer lots......
I know several people that swore they'd buy one upon it's release, and when they saw the price tag and what it actually looked like in person, they all flipped to a hard no.
