Anyone know if it’s normal for fuel trims to be a little higher when getting low on gas?

 

wouldn't have fit in most bumpers anyways.

 

I’ve been thinking about doing this...

... and came to this conclusion.

now this is a good idea. I’ve pulled apart everything in this area and pretty confident the cables are long enough to relocate the controls. Would need to widen the lower plastic, adjust the metal mounts for the swap and it would work out pretty well. Messing with the ducting is way too much of a pain.

 

So if the main rod thing inside the steering rack, that the inner tie rods screw into, has play in it does that mean the racks toast?

 

There’s a post somewhere on this site that has the vents in the original spot, radio up where the controls were and the controls down lower. If I remember right it wasn’t too big of a job. The hardest part would be the reworking of the plastic

That is very cool if real. There could be a market for that. The stock location is bad for the double din touchscreen, the glare makes it unusable in daylight.

Would only be available for 2001-2004 though because the climate control is fully digital. 1995-2000 is cable driven.

You could theoretically plug in a Limited 3rd Gen 4Runner digital climate control into 2001-2004 trucks.

 

Speaking of which, do you have that digital climate control in your T4R @Running Man?

 

The only reason I keep my touchscreen is for the reverse camera display.

 

They make Gentex mirrors with the display in it, but the version I want optioned with the HomeLink, Autodim, Ambient Temperature, and Compass is well above $1,000+.

 

Is there like a torque spec or just by feel? I guess I could do some searching in the morning

The backup camera is the very first mod I ever did on the truck. I had it when the truck was stock. Still my favorite mod.

 

Is that permanent?
