Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Did anyone who has installed the cat less dump tubes get any codes? I had these codes appear as soon as I drove it after install and the check engine light is on of course. I am guessing I may need an O2 sensor simulator?

I don't have my catless dump tubes yet but was told these would eliminate cells.

BTW, did you receive a specific tune for the dump tubes?

 

Met @CttAznRanger this morning for a TW Express transfer to @BadDNA and let him test drive 2.0 93 Beta. I’ll let him post his thoughts, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be buying OVT soon.

 

I've installed similar on mine with URD's dump tubes with no luck so went ahead and ordered the catted version from OVTune because with it throwing codes for the cats not being there it locks out a lot of features of the truck like trac control, crawl control, cruise control, and the abs system to name a few off the top my head though it doesn't seem to affect performance from what I can tell.

Sarcasm? Was just letting them know what to expect if they end up with codes being thrown and that O2 sensor spacers didn't work for me in getting rid of the codes.

 

I don't think that is what they meant. The Christmas tree of lights and inactive functions are the fun police.

The issue was that folks would drive and never fix CELs, so now non-critical features are shut off so that folks get their cars fixed.

 

Lol the ol spark plug non-folder trick is still around.

 

Well technically it's the end of the week. Possibly maybe new beta files today?

 

I don't really socialize a whole lot so I sometimes misinterpret things without enough context to be sure of what was meant.

Me either. As was said above. They were used on older vehicles to keep the spark plugs from fouling. Waste of money to prevent Cel.

 

Maybe not super soon, but definitely made me set on getting it at some point. A lot smoother shifts is what got me.

This is concerning,I have a set of the catless dump tubes on order from the independence day sale. Hopefully Mat knows about this and has a "fix" for this issue incorporated into the dump tube tune.

 

Help! I run PCMFlash (old version since I am using dongle). Identify and see my correct calibration. Push start button twice. Then Write. Always completes as unsuccessful. What am I doing wrong? I know for certain I have right file locations and correct files.
