I like the mount but I question everyone’s definition of “rock solid”. The trim bezel tabs and dash are so flimsy my phone shakes like it’s having seizures.

    https://youtu.be/Eaq6ZF77GHU

Wondering if @MESO could make up some reinforcements for the dash as shown in the video link (around 14:30).

The Hondo vent mount was more solid but the DMM is more useful...

Any time that an arm is horizontal, you are going to get shakes. The Hondo was more stiff because the arm was more vertical.

#10 drill bit is reeeeeeally close to a 3/16" in decimal, #10 is .193 and 3/16" is .187 its only a .006 differnce but when you have a bunch of holes that need to line up if you drill with too tight of a tolerance it can make things a bit harder, thats why I keep calling out for a #10, but 3/16" will work too. 5mm works also. 5mm is actually a bit larger than #10.

I see an install kit option... a #10 drill bit and a a few of the big binder clips to be used as clamps, and a small thin tappet style wrench to help tighten up the nuts inside next to the tabs

I actually have the bits and the clamps ready, I just finished up a cad drawing of the wrench and just have to find someone to cut up a bunch of them, depending on how cheap i can get the wrenches im trying to make it a $5 add on to the dmm for installation tool kit.
I couldnt find the right wrenches anywhere online so I designed my own with a very slim profile.

Anyone have pics of the big squeeze mounted close to dash level? Preferably with an iPad mounted

Anyone know the specs on the threads for this ball? Or, if they can be bought anywhere but here? I need one pronto and ordered from @FreshMexicanTaco a week ago, was charged and no shipment or communication since

1/4-20 I believe. RAM has a large website. I get most of mine from Amazon or direct.

I've looked at those 1/4-20 and it just looks way coarser than the stuff that comes with DMM.

I'm wondering if it is this?

10-32, I think the size is buried somewhere in this thread.

Whoops. Yeah that's it. Their other threaded mounts are 1/4-20. I should just go to sleep now.
