Bridge deal. Saves a bit of cap space now for potentially a bit more cap space lost in the next contract. Not a bad deal at all.

 

Still looks better than a 1st gen frame.

It's being reported now that the two teams who offered Marner an offer sheet were the Wild and the Blue Jackets. At least one of which would of given up four first round picks. The Blue Jackets I get, they're desperate to keep some momentum and lost a ton of talent to free agency, but what about the Wild? Seems like a weird tactic since they're probably looking at a rebuild in the next few years.

They likely called and asked what he was asking for because they were a perfect trading partner for Toronto if you look that them. Picks, young dmen, decent wingers.

I actually liked Hutton on the Canucks , just seemed to be the odd man out with the D men Vancouver picked up
