Hello all. I am trying to find the Cabin air intake. Does anyone know where the entrance is for the air used for Heating and Cooling the cabin ? I looked and am not able to find it. My concern is mice because they have used it to enter my last Tacoma and I would like to put a screen to block the hole. I don't like the smell of dead mice in the morning. I have a 2019, SR, I4 , AC. Thank you for ANY help.

The intake is under the windshield garnish on the passenger side. You have to remove your wipers and then there are tabs that hold the garnish in place.

Also if you are going to mesh off your cabin intake you might as well mesh off your engines air intake that is in the passenger wheel well.

My wife, my son and I all park our vehicles in the same garage.
    • All of their vehicles in the past years have had mice infestations.
    • None of mine have.
I do not allow eating in my vehicles. They do.

I pulled the cover off the air box on my 2007 one time to change the filter and it was full of corn! Those little bastards were coming in through the fender and using my FJ for food storage. F*^kers...

I recently screened off the cabin intake in my 2019 using some metal mesh from Lowes. You have to remove the wipers and plastic cowl:
    20190825_204747.jpg

Though it is secure I applied a bead of 100% GE silicone to keep pine needles and debris out of the rear part next to the firewall.

I need to mesh off my engine air intake next. I highly doubt that mesh is going to affect mpg or hp unless it really gets plugged.

It's going to affect it a lot less than a mouse nest in the air cleaner will.

Livestock are often feed cheap feeds like corn that makes them sick. This causes them to perform badly, so the modern day horse has far less power overall. Mice gorge themselves on the American diet filled with sugar, which gives a short term boost at the expense of longevity. So, since mice breed constantly and horses are slowing down, doesn’t a fresh batch of young mice hyped up on sugar in the engine give the Taco more power than the sick horses?

    Just sayin

All true. I think I’ll add some this bottle to the tank and see if it helps.

Thank you ALL for the great info. Today I got the same gutter screen as MtnFisher ( thank you for the idea ) and am going to do the same thing that RichVt ( thank you for the idea ) did to his engine intake .
