Okay so i have 2009 taco v6 4.0l i have a oil leak coming from the front of my motor some say its nothing to worry about but idc i wanna fix it im pretty good with vehicles. I just cant pinpoint where its coming from i think the timing chain gasket. I replaced the upper pulley and put a new belt on. And then thats when i noticed a few days later that oil is everywhere. Any advice. I cant afford to take it anywhere and have it looked at.

Timing cover leaks are simple but a large job. It requires taking all the accesories off, intake and valve covers off. Then cleaning and resealing the entire cover. There's a few write ups on here. I would say its above a standard DIY but do-able at home.

Many 4.0's leak from the timing cover. It usually leaks worst aroung the power steering pump. Rarely does it affect anything, even the belts tend to stay dry.

Check your crank seal if it's getting slung everywhere. Look at bottom of crank pulley from underneath while engine is running and see if you can see it running from seal or that area

I’d do the best can to clean the oil off.
Then inspect it frequently to see where it originating from.
If that doesn’t get me any where, I would then add a dye to the oil and inspect with a UV light.

Water pump will only cause coolant issues. Never oil.

This is a great idea. How much dye do you think it would take to show a oil leak. 2oz? Would you use pag oil with dye.

Typically most kits contain about 1oz.
You can buy it at most Auto Parts Stores.
Just follow the directions in the kit.
You will need a UV Light. Some kits come it a light others do not.
