Pioneer DMH-C2550NEX - Parking Brake Connection & Backup Camera

I know I have seen the answer to this question in a forum, but searching in these forums are not showing any relevant results.

I have recently purchased (from Crutchfield) and installed a Pioneer DMH-C2550NEX with a idatalink Maestro Rr (with T01 installation harness) and a Crutchfield Ready Harness in my 2011 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner. I was able to keep my steering wheel controls because of the Maestro.

Everything seems to work pretty good. I had SiriusXM with my factory radio and I don't miss it because of the HD Radio, Pandora, Spotify, & Apple Car Play.

I have two issues...

FIRMWARE UPDATE: The radio's firmware needs updating. It is currently running on 8.04 and 8.10 is available. I tried to update it, but apparently the radio is not connected to the parking brake and the update function is not available unless you have activated the parking brake. There is a light green wire with a male connector coming off of the harness, which I assume is where the parking brake needs to be attached. Anyone have any ideas where this should connect?

BACKUP CAMERA: This radio has the ability to show the backup camera when the truck is in reverse. The Maestro has a wiring harness that connects to a RCA connector on the back of the radio and a male connector that connects into the Ready Wiring Harness (blue with green stripe & black wire), but there are 4 wires that need to connect into the truck's backup camera. Does anyone know where these wires (black, yellow, brown, & blue with green stripe) should connect into the camera?

I have tried to figure out the parking brake connection through Crutchfield's Tech Support. They can't find anything and they are trying to see if Pioneer has any suggestions.

Thanks Fullboogie. I think that will solve my parking brake issue.

That leaves two wires to connect into the camera system (yellow and brown).

 

Had that on my ex601 worked great even works on my new JVC deck

 

Update on Camera: It was surprisingly easy to hook up the camera. Online videos show tapping into the wires above the headliner where the wires come out of the rear view mirror. This is totally unnecessary because there is a location a lot closer. There is a camera harness located on the top left of the fuse panel behind the dash (behind coin holder) where you can tap into the video feed. The harness has 4 wires...bare (wrapped), red, black, white. I only tapped into the Red wire which is Video [+] and the Bare wire which is Video [-].


Parking Brake Issue: I have order the Micro Bypass from Amazon, but it has not arrived yet. I heard back from Crutchfield Tech Support and they said that I just needed to connect the green wire from the Maestro Harness to the green/yellow wire on a harness on the fuse panel behind the dash. Didn't work for me.

 

The newer radios are not just looking for that green wire to be grounded. They require a ground-ungrounded-ground cycle on every startup. That's why that little Amazon doohicky is so useful. We used to just wire in a standard old Bosch relay on the earlier radios but they obviously don't work anymore with this new requirement.
