    hi,
    I wanted to get some feedback on supercharging my 2001 TRD 4x4 extended cab with 145k miles. Has anyone done it at that mileage? Any issues? The truck is strong and drives like new. Thanks!

    Check compression to see how close they are to each other. Should be fine though.

    I had 480,000 miles on my engine and supercharger before a head gasket popped.
    You will have no issues.

    I have supercharger that by the time I overhaul it and install it the truck will be around 255,000 miles.

    Are you keeping everything stock or doing exhaust and intake and injector etc? Can I just keep everything else stock? I’ve got the suspension all beefed up but nothing else. It was a one-owner truck for 17 years with an amazing Carfax.

    You’ll need a fuel pump, I’m pretty sure injectors, a 7th injector kit or a meth kit, 1997 knows just about all there is to know about this stuff

    It relieves the boost pressure, and it fixes some of the problems that our transmissions have, according to an older thread I read in the 4runner forums.

    The zip kit fixes some soft shifting issues. It raises the clutch pack pressures in the trans so there is less chance of slipping. Slipping will cook an auto trans clutch pack really fast.

    @1997tacomav6 Has done it, tried it, improved on it and has a great running daily driver.

    I installed the supercharger new in 1998 a year after or less when I brought the truck, so the supercharger has 600,000 miles on it and I rebuild it every 100-150k miles.
    I have more miles than anyone here on my TRD supercharger.

    AND I have lots of little mods done to get the most out
    of the supercharger as its a daily driver with 10 pounds of boost.
    The supercharger will not hurt the engine in any way.The supercharger will get you 60 to 120 extra horses depending on what mods you do.

    You just have to make sure your fuel system is working correctly with the pulley
    and altitude that you are at. If you run a stock pulley you will probably be ok with
    the stock fuel system depending if your truck is ping happy or not. If it is ping happy
    or you run a smaller pulley and your at sea level you will need to up grade the fuel
    department with 7 th injector or methonal kit or etc.

    Thats another thread depending on what your goals are.
    You want to have a safe AFR at full boost around 11 - 12.

    11.would be the richer side, 12.would be the leaner side.

    11 is your goal, you want it richer rather than leaner. Leaner is when ping comes
    into play.

    I just noticed I live in your back yard In Parker :) pm me if you want any input or a ride in my truck. I have another TW member that I’ve been helping here in Denver that has an auto that just got his supercharger installed that could give
    you some input on the auto transmission. I don’t know what toytec knows about 1st gen supercharger setups, (not that much, basic stuff I would imagine is all ) thats not their field. You should be able to get all the info u need here.

    Awesome, I’m on to the Parker side. I’m always on Parker Road. This is lucky for me. I got the 5-speed manual transmission. I’m doing a little more research to see what to beef up.

    You don’t really need to beef to much up, really depends on what you want out of your supercharger,
    Stock setup or getting more out of it
