The modern version of the gay-cave is called a "Bear Bar". Should you choose to explore, I recommend using a pseudo name like Tarzan.

The only appropriate response is castration. These are exactly the kinds of genetics that need to be removed from our genetic pool. In all seriousness, I don't drink cheap whiskey or coke. Alcohol increases your risk of every form of death, shortens your telomers, ruins your metabolism, and hinders recovery/connective tissue growth/muscle hypertrophy. If you are gonna drink poison, make it worth your while. Stick to your Angel's.

Hey Mayo clinic did a study that showed those who drink moderately live longer and have less disease than non-drinkers.

I don’t drink moderately, but if I did I’d be healthier

    I’m assuming you aren’t a hunter...

She was a yearling. Had a lot of does with fawns come in, but didn’t want to shoot them. Fawns are still too young. I knew she didn’t have one yet, so took her out.

Uhg, I'm gonna rant about that. Its one thing to be sarcastic about your drinking habits, its another to incorrectly interpret scientific studies that could have unintended health consequences.

When you control for exercise and diet in an appropriately large study sample, no alcohol is best. Look at the better study I linked in my last post. It is true that some beverages that happen to have alcohol in them also have compounds that are beneficial, but the alcohol often dampens or overrides the effects. Hence the silly studies that show if you drink zero drinks vs a drink vs three drinks there appears to be a benefit after one drink. If you control for the beverage and just give the alcohol, these positive effects are completely lost - health declines. If you give the compounds and not the alcohol the positive effects are magnified (this is easily done in folks with healthy diets, and if you think about what you eat after 1 glass of wine vs the bottle, you can see how the bias comes into play). What is happening is the alcohol is ruining your body's benefit from these compounds, but there is a fleeting sweet spot after ~one drink in which most people can process the alcohol safely while still reaping some of the benefits of the beneficial compounds. If want to maximize your health, endurance, strength, lifespan, and lower your risk for all diseases, do not drink. You can buy the compounds in these beverages separately. Polyphenols and trans resveratrol are your big two.

Ego-centered rant aside, I do drink. As you might assume, not very much. I primarily drink wine, which has the clearest indicated ratio of beneficial compounds vs alcohol detriment, and I occasionally drink whiskey. Total consumption is kept below two standard drinks within 24hrs, and less than five for the week. This translates to less than 1 bottle of wine for the week (usually a half bottle), with whiskey consumption closer to ~1.5 drinks per month.

Speaking of stupid studies that have been blown out of proportion, the studies on the Mediterranean diet have been disproved as well in part because the researchers biased their results and selected for healthier people at base line in the Mediterranean group.

I’ve not wasted meat with a heart/lung shot. You really can’t eat the rib region anyways. Its a more humane shot to take and a safer shot to take. I rifle hunt but primarily bow hunt now. You’ll just mame or miss animals with a neck shot. And you don’t ruin any meat with a blade.

Moderate consumption of alcohol in most research is 1 alcoholic beverage per day using the standard 5oz wine, 12oz beer, 1-1.5oz hard liquor depending on the proof.

While I have not dove into hundreds of studies the largest issue I see with alcohol specific studies is they typically include more heavy drinking rather than moderate drinking simply because of time and money limitations. One study I saw found alcohol was detrimental to training. The study group had 8+ alcoholic beverages post training...

Regardless I enjoy beer. I am incredibly controlled in my diet/fitness/body fat in all other aspects but I love beer. If I die early as a result well at least I was happy .

I won’t comment on the bow stuff cause I have never shot one lol. I just am a firm neck shot person cause the bullet can ricochet inside and waste meat. We try to use as much as we can so it’s just part of the whole “nothing wasted” thing.

People who drink probably live longer because it helps relieve stress and no matter how strong our physical bodies are, mental health can still wreck you.

I just don’t have experience wasting meat. Even with misplaced shots or crazy ballistics

I shot an antelope with the Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips. These things fragment after they hit (I no longer use). This bullet went into three pieces and split the spine the other two came out the gut (entry was heart/lung area). Still no wasted meat. I don’t waste it just because it has a bullet hole (cut around the actual hole) or its gut shot like some do.

Bow hunting is a lot of fun and a way to take your hunting to the next level. It does ruin rifle hunting though. I love spot and stalk and with a bow thats a huge challenge. I’ve actually tried stalking a deer and ended up scaring the shit out of one I didn’t see. I could have hugged him we were so close. We scared each other lol.

Its a different experience. When you don’t want to blink you are so close. Its cool.

I picked up bow hunting when I turned 18 and had to buy my own ammo. Fuck paying $1.50 a pop. I can reuse arrows LOL
