I found it at a local toyota dealer and it was a recent trade in. The dealer realized they messed up on the price but I caught it before the could change it...

They ended up putting two new tires on, replacing the windshield, replacing the passenger side taillight assembly and undercoating the truck. Then I drove it home after it was all done. And found the bed loose which ended up being a missing spacer on the forward passanger side bed bolt. And bad front wheel bearings in which they corrected as well. So I think I made out pretty good. And the truck has been great.

Good to know. I'm hoping to find one under 100k miles so I'll definitely need to increase my budget.

If I saw something with that low mileage and in good condition I'd definitely try to find a way to make it work.

I'm not 100% set on a 13, I was just going for the older years and one of the threads said the 13 had something better than the 12. I think 13 was also the last year for the temperature sensor.

My friend has the exact truck I want but in MT plus he's in Canada but he knows to let me know before trading it in.

Thanks for the info. From everyone's comments it looks like I'll need to go to at least 17k. I'm going to try and save for another 5k to get to 20k.

I agree about the 100k+ 1st gens but here in Michigan the ones I've found at pushing 200k and have been assaulted with salt their whole lives.

    Mentors 2nd gen

That seems to be the consensus. I'm going to try to move up to 17k-20k. I'm also in no rush but obviously the sooner the better.

What do you think you'd take for it hypothetically?

I'm looking for an at sb so hopefully they're not in the unicorn status.

That seems to be the consensus. I'm going to try and get there.

I think he was mainly joking

Wow! Is that fair value or are they trying to gouge? Do you think they'll actually get that?

Good to know; I'll stick with trying to find a sport then. Yeah, I wish I could've just bought one new but I was a broke college kid then. My friend was just finishing nursing school so he bought one knowing he'd be making bank soon. He knows to talk to me before trying to trade it in.

Nice! I don't hear a ton of stories about winning again the dealer (though we all know they never really lose).

Where I am, a 2009 goes for that much. So probably get a 2013 in 2023 for 15k.
Unless you want a i4, you can get those now for 15k.

Just for ref. I bought a 2010 SR5, 4x4, V6 with matching cap with 79k miles for 14k back in Feb. but it was sort of from a family friend. I didn't want to do anything until this Sept. ( current lease up) but could not pass up this deal. Good luck!

At my local Ford dealer, I saw a used 2005 TRD Sport access cab in silver streak with manual tranny and brand new frame for what I thought was an outrageous price of $14,000. Mileage is unknown. The truck was very clean, but some of the body panels didn't line up quite right so I think it may have been wrecked, but not sure. Seemed like a lot of money to me.

Just helped my girlfriend purchase an uber clean 2013 doublecab 4x4 trd or in timberland mica with 60k. Ended up paying 23500$ for 15k and low miles you are stuck with a 2005 to 1.

I could wait til 2023 but I think it'll be that much harder to find a clear 2013.

True, but I don't think I can play that hard =)

Seems like a pretty great deal. Congrats!

Yeah, that seems like a lot to me too but I'm not an expert. Some of the guys on here could give a better assessment of what a truck like that is worth.

Wow, that sounds like a great truck! Do you have any pics? I would probably go up to 20k which is the upper end of what I could afford.
