1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Lets see, my box is a heinz 57 variety if there ever was such a thing. Gearwrench, proto, blackhawk, kobalt, Pittsburgh, craftsman, duralast, master pro, williams, klutch just to name most of it. I buy on an as needed basis, so whatever store Im closest to at the time gets the bucks.

 

LOL... About like mine. A while back I bought some Armstrong impact sockets and an impact u-joint from Napa that have taken a lot of abuse.

 

I like my HF impact stuff, which is mostly the big sized deep sockets. I have a GW impact set for the smaller sized sockets. All the chrome sockets I use the most are Klutch from Northern Tool. The craftsman sockets are in my junkyard bag.

Buying a set so I can pull off the used ones from my 4x4 spindles, and get them rebuilt for a later sale.

 

The HF pro line stuff is good enough for me. Also, I like it has the size printed on the side that I like when my eyes are full of sweat and I can't hardly see anything.

 

I feel like they were cheaper from the dealer, I don’t remember. I got both OEM hubs for free from the dealer because of a delay on their end.

 

I bought an Armstrong ratchet and broke it in less than a year, never again.

 

Your drill press?

You can slow it down by swapping the belt pulleys you know.

 

There isn’t much to rebuild on them at all except maybe replacing the dial gasket and body x hub gasket.

 

We use the mill with those at work. Most of the time it just rips the center piece out though. Pita to cut thick metal with those.

Most drill presses wont go slow enough. Those hole saws need to be run super slow, like 100 rpms or less.

My proto/blackhawk ratchets are the bees knees. Decently priced too.

 

This Craftsman curved handle swivel head 3/8 drive has gotten me out of a lot of jams on transverse front wheel drives where is no room to work.

I have an old Blackhawk I really like. But I think 90% of my work is done with Snappy ratchets, except in the case of needing a super short one

 

I need a 4 door. But a aev ute would be sweet
