So I am getting ready to sheetrock and insulate my garage ceiling. The current framing where I am going to hang sheetrock is 48'' on center, What is the best way to attach sheetrock in this scenario? Im assuming Ill have to add some additional framing, just not sure what the best route is for that.20190909_104230.jpg

I appreciate it, current plan in my head is to hang perpendicular 2x4s using joist hangers 24'' oc and use 5x8 sheetrock with some liquid nails for extra bonding. Just was curious if someone with more experience in a similar scenario had a better idea.

Im just getting that one wrapped up, was quite the challenge to build. Custom carbon fiber tank and tail, decided it would be a good idea to use 1098 headlight and mount to a s2R, ended up painting Toyota 1G3 magnetic grey metallic with a flat clear. Came out pretty cool, here are a couple pictures I have on my comp

I replaced my water heater in 2014 but did not change the intake/return hoses because they were fine at the time. The shutoff valve was a little corroded but worked fine. It keeps the water from back-flowing from the attic. It's on the hot side.

So last night I shut off that valve to replace the whole house filter. When I went to turn it back on it seized completely after a few turns. It would not move either way.
That meant no hot shower and and I'm not making it in to work.

Of course the valve was soldered in and the replacement hoses I bought had opposite fittings so I had to cut and replace.
The output from the heater was corroded pretty bad and would not budge. PB Blaster and an hour soak fixed that.

Then I had to wait another 1 1/2 hours for all the water to stop trickling down from the attic before I could solder on the new parts.

Here you can see where the valve seized up.

New valve, hoses installed an no leaks. Any time I can I replace screw valves with 1/4 turn ball valves. They work so much better.

No offense to any of the plumbers on here, but sometimes I wonder if the guys they hire here for these track homes even read the plans :annoyed:

Finishing a customers basement and if I would have left the rough in plumbing as is. You’d have to step around the toilet to get to the tub

Ground work isn't for everyone. You actually have to know how to read plans and layout. All without those pesky slabs or walls being there. lol

Yep. It's all about pushing them out as fast as possible. Sub-standard work is all over large scale developments. I've been fortunate to build only custom homes. No two will ever be the same.

Installed two 48" LEDs in the attached garage to replace the single 40w which was located directly behind the garage door opener.

Had to spend some time up on the roof in the rain this morning. I guess I need to get up there more often to check things out

Sitting in the living room thinking about how many light switches we need to replace and where we’re putting the new switches for can lights and the spotlights for the paintings and we hear “drip....drip” from the AC closet, we shoot each other looks like “I don’t wanna check it, you go check it.” And I open the closet door and see wetness around the air handler.
Pop the return grate (unfiltered) off and see water standing on the slab, crap.
Turns out the drain tube was blocked (who uses soft line for drain tube?) so I got to re-plumb it with PVC.
