What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I changed the rear differential oil, 500 miles after regearing to 4.88. I couldn't get to the fill plug because of the 33" spare tire, so jacked the frame.

I have a little pump that only fits 1 quart bottles, so I had to fill the diff one quart at a time (refilling from a 5 gallon jug). Of course I made a mess (you gotta love the smell of diff oil).

Then I greased the Total Chaos UCA. I actually ran out of the recommended grease after 3 zirks... out of four. Fortunately, they finally stopped squeaking. When I rotate the tires, I'll get the fourth.

I had more planned, but this year we have summer in September in SoCal, so I was drenched in sweat and had enough.

Oh, yeah, I also adjusted the driver side King to counteract a little the lean.


EDIT: And I sold my one month old Snugtop Rebel shell. It's gonna be Diamondback or Decked.

 

Threw on the remote start from Start X. Super easy install for those thinking about going with any remote start, the PnP t harness makes it stupid easy! It only took about 15 minutes for install.

Doing the DIY $10 tailgate pop lock tomorrow.

 

So when do the 2020's come out?

The remote start? From Amazon, simple search will pull them. Prime shipping and they had some discount so I paid like $150. If you mean the DIY $10 pop lock, again simple search via google and you will find a few threads.

 

Please excuse me but, I think the name Tacoma World would imply that we help each other here? The member was just asking for a LINK to the items that you seem to have on hand? Save us time and effort, plus not having to buy something that might not be what you had purchased and were happy with? Time and money, plus being a good neighbor. Just thinking out loud.

 

It’s a pretty easy one. Line it up vertically to avoid additional headaches. It gets testy to set up if there is too much of an angle, if you notice mine is a bit high and took some adjustment to get right.

Also if you notice mine, go further left so there is more room for the silver sliding latch to move. Mine kept catching until I got the bends right.

 

I also forgot to ask if that remote start works only with push button start, which my manual does not have...it has the old fashioned key...

 

Installed a Pop & Lock power lock on the tailgate.

 

I am not sure how to link it but you should search N2 Designs here on TW and I believe they have a solution for your manual start (H Key) Tacoma. You will fund them and seem very helpful in getting the right solution to you.

This might work for you but you would have to reach out to the vendor. Per the reviews/questions listed for the item someone said yes it works with manual but again I can’t confirm.

Whoa whoa, you're all good. Just some advice that is all not a reprimand no scolding, you are new? LOL. All is good! Now we are all informed? Right?

I'm not going to get one but, what is the difference between this and a Prinsu? (. Wouldn't fit into the garage.)

 

Super easy! Can equipped with an OEM adapter so a quick bolt on. Just a little tight to get the bulbs out if you don't remove the housing

 

Its 98% identical, only difference is the bend where you mount it to the cab isnt as smooth and the fairing (wind deflector) is more of a square. Overall I would have gotten it over my prinsu to save 250 bucks.

 

$125 Awning (Alibaba find)... worth the gamble. But it took about a month to get to hawaii, LOL!
