Do you know how to bleed the master cylinder? I can't find any videos or guides on how to do that.

On a first gen yes, but not a second gen. It could be you just need to keep bleeding it till you find the airpocket. Did you do the bpv valve?

On 1st gens it looks like this on back of the rear axle (not my truck just from google)

    Brake-proportioning-valve-brake-cable-extension-kit-pictured.jpg

the lines lead up to this which has a bleeder valve

    fr_2147_size880.jpg

what's weird though is when I search for the brake proportioning valve on 2nd gen Tacomas I only pull up info on 1st gens, I wonder if it's called something different on your truck. Load proportioning valve maybe?

So I got the new calipers on and it's drivable, the brakes just don't feel as firm as I think they should. I tested them out with multiple hard stops from 50 to 0 mph, and they did the job just fine, just dont feel as firm as they should.

But they look awesome, and I'm super stoked to have the truck drivable again!

I didn't realize that was this month, so that makes sense. I'm just hoping this thread stays alive so we can all continue to wheel lol

Yeah, it’s next weekend. Most of the active SoCal wheeling members, and some not very active, are prepping so not a lot of activity.

I will be in Pismo with a decent sized group September 27-29 (not tacoma specifically). Would be cool to meet some taco owners or even caravan up.

I've been balls deep in repairs it seems lately. I just got back from camping up at Laurel Lakes which is the first dirt my truck has seen since the Miller Jeep Trail run I think...which was back at the beginning of this summer lol. Had to replace a CV axle last week cause the boot tore, and the damn replacement I put on just tore on my camping trip. It never ends

Got a crazy busy month ahead of me too so I really don't know when my next trip will be :(

I'm in a somewhat similar boat. The torn brake line has taken me so long to fix, and with my wedding coming up in December, I can't afford to risk any damage to my truck. So I don't think I'll be going off road for a long time, probably not until spring, unless we can squeeze in a short easy run sometime during the winter/ski season.

Yeah, that Laurel Lakes trail is a real CV boot killer. Warn all your friends to stay away. Thanks. lol

Or at least to clean up after themselves!

I think its time you get an oem and reboot it. I bet you can find some used ones for cheap. The inexpensive ones aren't treating ya right. Didn't @Sperrunner have some he'd hook you up with?
